I always figured Star Fox was dead and buried, considering the last successful game was made in 1997.

Honestly understandable, but the last released Starfox game was 10 years ago. I do think you have a pretty fair assessment as well though

Still waiting for a new F-Zero (99 was appreciated, but not a new game, or at least a rerelease of GX with online multiplayer).

I'm just happy Nintendo stopped hating their sci fi franchises enough to let Metroid come back

Some other similar ones: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2269980/FUR_Squadron/ - Small game but feels exactly like star fox. the same dev is coming out with a similar game but more detail/better: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2674650/FUR_Squadron_Phoenix/?curator_clanid=45207376

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2140100/Whisker_Squadron_Survivor/ - Has a very star fox meets rougelike. I liked it but I know a couple of people didnt.

I mean it'll have been 10 years soon for a flagship 3D title. Obviously they're going hard on the spinoffs but it's never been this long for main titles.

well yea, but we haven't been starved on mainline mario content either. we had bowser's fury in 2020, mario wonder in 2023 (not a 3d game but still mainline), and dk bananza apparently has a lot in common with 3d mario (tho i couldn't tell myself, i didn't play it)

How come all of nintendo's IPs were made decades ago? Why were they able to make several iconic worlds in a few years when there was also less money to be made?

It seems like the art is dead and it's just business now.

Honestly its about time Nintendo puts their minor series first, hopefully now they'll have enough time for f-zero

Wonder what Zelda remake it will be. All of main console ones have been remade in some form to my knowledge. Maybe a handheld game?

I don't think there has really ever been a 3D Zelda remake. WindWaker, Tiwlight princess, and skyward sword were all HD remasters. The 3DS versions of Ocaraina of Time and Majoras Mask might count as remakes, but didn't modify too much.

The only real "remake" I can think of is Links Awakening for the switch.

Zelda 2 remake on the BotW/TotK engine!

New Star Fox game without a console gimmick!

    What? I can dream.

Stop remaking Star Fox 64, it’s not even the best star fox game

I wonder if they are going to do a Marvel and make a bunch of movies, cameos....then a Smash Bros crossover movie.

The games and movies would print them money.
