If you haven't watched it, the 2017 Ducktales reboot is better than the original imo.

Its a bad thing for two reasons:

1. It destroys any form of ownership people have over digital assets like games, movies, etc.
2. No ownership destroys the second hand market. This hurts for a number of reasons:
3. Preservation can now only be done illegally
4. Access to gaming and other media becomes more expensive
5. Large corporations get to decide what you can / cannot play. Removing games from storefronts and consoles is a lot easier than hunting down physical copies.

That being said I have no issue with digital only, we just need legislation that forces some form of "ownership" beyond just a license.

What if the portal on the moving platform had a wall right in front of it, so moving though the portal would cause the box to run into the wall. You'd have a scenario where the box wouldn't be able to move through the portal, but you'd have energy being generated by the moving arm "pushing down" on the box. The only way that could work is if the moving portal is transferring energy to the box, and therefore require option B.

Although that being said, portals break the laws of physics, so there probably can't be a "right" answer.

Probably for two reasons:

1. They probably can't actually navigate the venue floor well (You'll notice they're pretty much dragging the dogs in a direction).
2. Someone might steal them if they aren't guarded.

Pretty sure most countries do this now, sadly.

I'm not defending anyone, just explaining how the law is working in this scenario as people seems to have lost the ability to understand simple taxes (tariffs).

The top line models require hardware that costs $100k+ to run. That's no longer in the relam of self hosting.

The smallest models can already run on a laptop or pc anyways.

I was surprised to learn the US actually is 43% renewable+nuclear. Plus almost all new generation is renewable.

China gets a lot of attention because they're still building out their grid, but the US hasn't been doing bad at transitioning. Our biggest issue is slow adoption of electric cars, but I largely blame Trump for that.

I hate comments like this. Nintendo paid an illegal tax, so they deserve a refund. Consumers got screwed by their government, not Nintendo.

Also, if you think the tariffs, AI, threat of more tariffs, Iran war, etc. haven't increases the cost of operations for businesses then you're not paying attention to current events.

I agree with you, I thought Gummygo was critical to the development of Pomni and the overall plot. It showed how flawed Cain was, how fuzzy the line between "human" and "AI" was, as well as generally just setting the mood.

Edit: I also didn't see him being deleted by Cain as a joke. It really helps show how serious the stakes are for everyone.
