For example, what kind of story would Geralt the Witcher tell his kids? "Once upon a time there was some normal everyday shit that went how it always goes"?

Must be the equivalent of realworld kids saying "Daddy tell me the story about the Tesco delivery again! The one where they forgot the 2L bottle of Pepsi Max!"

I think they do and they definitely deserve it.

You keep thinking it is ending, but it just keeps going.

If there was an AI model that ran locally on a PC for basic things and cloud sourced computer power for more complex tasks, all of these data centers would become obsolete in an instant. All of the invested capital and materials wasted in a flash.

Edit: lots of great counter points in the comments.

Having grown up late 90s into the 2000s I went from buying cds to lime wire to spotify.

In the last 6 months I have found such a greater appreciation for just putting on a whole album and listening to it front to back.

I feel there is a huge loss when going from one artist to another to another all random.

Today I am listening to Refused, The Shape Of Punk To Come

Do they remember smells? How long does their memory last? What are their first memories?

Quick summary of the game:

SpoilerNo, I’m not a Human follows a nameless protagonist amid a bizarre outbreak. Creatures roam the night, pretending to be humans. Emerging from the very soil that brings flora into the world, these creatures are called “++visitors++.” Extra-terrestrial or not, their origin from the Earth’s core implies they may be the first residents of our planet. From their point of view, perhaps we are the visitors. Your job is simple: keep those visitors out and only let humans in.

But with their appearance and mannerisms much like ours, it’s hard to determine who’s real. Letting them in could get your human guests killed, but turning away the wrong person might just offer the same results—nowhere is safe. Surviving until morning offers few rewards as the sun rises in temperature day by day, keeping all residents trapped inside. Are the visitors even real? Or is this a simple case of hysteria from sunburn (like the English in a heatwave)?

Five nights to let the right one in, five days to learn more about your surroundings. Who will you let in?

Basically, alot of our surroundings is causing more of us to distrust each other, hide and only come outside during certain times of the day, AI altering images of perception and reality and the struggle to understand truth vs fiction.

Constantly on edge to protect yourself and unfortunately, only a few (whoever they are) that your trust. Either your gonna go off grid or you are forced to relay on the rations that are given from the government (as shown in the game) .

This is just a stretch of course, but alot of what is going on reminds me alot of this game ^^^^^

It just dawned on me that Netflix is behaving exactly like Google: https://killedbygoogle.com/. Many of their shows do not survive past season one, so people no longer follow new shows for fear that they will be canceled. Similarly, many people do not trust new Google services for fear that they will be canceled.

Everyone complains about shorts or reels format. But reading comments is the short format of reading.
And I can attest the the feeling is the same, quick dopamine release and after a session we can't barely remember most of what was read, just like short video format.

...there wouldn't be a Jerry for Tom to chase anymore. And, depending on the owl (e.g. an Eurasian Eagle-owl, Bubo bubo), there wouldn't be a Tom, either (yes, an owl can hitch a domestic cat if she's large and powerful enough, there's even a photo I once saw depicting this happening and the cat seemed to be very confused "y aM fAlling upwArDs!? meoww?!").

"Hootie" (or "Ollie") would bring about the ultimate end for the entire cartoon in the first episode she were to be featured, perhaps in the first three seconds of her appearance. And this end would be the most quick and the most silent end for a cartoon, like, ever.

We all talk about the big bang as this moment the Universe begins by popping into existence with simple hydrogen and some helium. Hydrogen and Helium are gases that are able to carry sound. Today, space has expanded so much that there is vacume beyond where matter clumps together to form stars/planets, which means the sound couldn't propagate, but the early early Universe wouldn't have clumped like today; there would have been hydrogen everywhere. This means it would have been loud everywhere.

*Edit: I know we call it the Big Bang because of the rapid expansion of spacetime, but I always just pictured the general motion of expansion as the "bang". Never thought of how loud it would have been.

It used to be you could find a box of photos or keepsakes that you inherited to look back on how things were or when you were a kid. Now, most of that is stored on phones, and most parents probably don’t think to share or save them in a way to be passed down in the future.

Imagine if the US' forefathers were told there'd be magic lanterns that could be used to see through walls one day when they were writing the 4th Amendment. I figure a lot of our surveillance hell scape could have been avoided.
