Mostly the title describes it. I'm curious after seeing a pokemon Minecraft server in a passover YouTube video my spouse was going between. Basically I am wondering if I can create a host on Mint somehow to host with the mods, put a split console join, and then allow us to join from Xbox or such hosted off our server.

Hello again! Another Build from the A Sharp Miner server! I was tempted to post the entire build progress, but since that's like a dozen images, I thought that might be a bit much. This is not 100% complete, as the interior is still in progress and I may still tweak the outside a bit, but it's "thumbnail" ready as far as I'm concerned.

I can post interiors later if you guys want. :) [edit] You guys asked for it!

The entrance as viewed from my base's south gate (the primary one)

The first floor is a lounge area, with various amenities for visitors. This is still in 1.21.10 so not having cushions is...painful, NGL.

I understand server etiquette!

It's Unisex. Whatever. Just wash your hands after!

Casual discussions, hang-outs, chill vibes. You get the idea.

SNACKS. You best believe it's stocked!! Cookies, pies, wattah mellone, lava chicken, all the good stuff!

An overview of my base. Yes, those are actual, functional farms.

No Welcome Center worth its salt is complete without an Info Kiosk. Here's mine. Has a list of farms and amenities at my base, some simple rules which amount to "Don't touch my shit if it's in my actual house, and my (specific) Horses are off limits, but otherwise 'Mi casa, su casa,'" and a little blurb about what inspired me to build this way. It also lists the other farms I built for the server.

On Floor 2 we have a meeting room/banquet hall not much to say here. Has some nice art, and I used ascii art to get the hardware on the buffet tables.

Floor 3 is the Auditorium and Public address space. Perfect for more important gatherings, open mic nights, or concerts. The shaders I use don't really work well with banner gradients, but the lighting was too good to pass up. The server uses the microblocks from wandering trader mod, so I was able to get this chunk of polished deepslate to make a rather believable microphone!

I kept the upper floor a bit minimalistic because I figure that it would best facilitate large gatherings by not having clutter everywhere.

I was trying for ages to figure out how to have skins everyone can see in a LAN world with offline accounts. The Skin Shuffle mod worked perfectly, so I thought I'd share. You just install it on everyone's clients and it's good to go, syncs everyone up in real-time.

So a few days ago, I posted a message asking if this was even possible. I got Minecraft up and running on my Retroid Pocket Flip 2 without any microsoft account.

I only play single player, but maybe there is an unofficial server one of you host, that I could play on? I've never played Java edition before, so I never played online.

I'm also getting used to minor differences between Java and Bedrock. Like crafting items is so different. It's very akward with a controller. Took me a day or so to figure things out.

Also, are there SUPPOSED to be this many enemies when you first start? I was building my little survival dirt hut, and then when night time came, I counted 14 creepers. My hut kept getting blown up. I had no time to rebuild, because creepers survive the day, and for some reason were very glitchy at first. They were staying still until they saw me, then they'd fly at me like an enderman, only to instantly explode. No Hssss. Just instant bombing. 14 times in one day cycle.

I've got a bunch of torches around my house now. And I built a creeper disposal system. Shame they don't drop gun powder if they fall. Oddly enough, zombies still drop rotten flesh if they fall.

Still waiting on skelitons to fall into my trap.

Now I just gotta figure out an enderman disposal system, and a spider disposal system.

Also, the game says I've been here for 25 game days. I've yet to see a single animal besides octopuss. Is that normal?

Hi again! Since my last two posts have been well received, I figured I share some more stuff! A few months back I decided to try breeding the BEST horse. I prefer Sable horses, because that was the first one I ever tamed on an old SMP I was on before this one. I got that horse, but once I did, I elected to build a track for Riding and racing at my base. This track has directional arrows, fencing, and a start stop line. It generally runs around the perimeter of my base. What it needed, and I finally got around to adding, was the grandstand for spectators. This area also doubles as an observation platform and lounge for anybody who wants to drop buy and have a fishing party. 😄 As you can see, it offers a full concessions area with cozy and comfortable seating on the second level. (And I'm a little miffed I'm still in the 1.21.x version, because those wool stairs would slap hard for the awning. Oh well...)

Ok, so I just want minecraft java edition running on my Retroid Pocket Flip 2. Which from a hardware perspective is identical in everyway to the Retroid Pocket 5.

I can use Game Native to get PC games running.

My device also came with PovavLauncher. I don't know what it does, but it's minecraft related. Although it appears to be an android app.

Does anyone know where I should look for a guide?

I saw a YouTube short about it some time ago and I found it very useful, since I have not seen anyone else talking about it I wanted to share it.

I want to get back to modded Minecraft, but I am lost on where to begin. Would love tips on how to find a fitting modpack!

I would love something like GregTech for multiblock stuffs and complexity, or Immersive Engineering for the interactivity and multiblocks.

I considered GregTech New Horizons, but it looks too difficult at a glance, especially with the infernal mobs. I want a casual play through with some complexity added in. Would be great if you could recommend a modpack, or give tips on choosing the right modpack!

So ive been basically looking for some Custom Mob Textures to use on my 1.12.2 MC Server running Forge :P

Saldy the Mob Skin even tho there is a 1.12 Download apparently is just a 128x128 Texture cuaisng the Sheep ingame to be completely messed up :(
https://www.planetminecraft.com/mob-skin/cult-of-the-lamb-5970871/

So ive decided to take a Crack at it and fix it myself via downscaling and stichting it together for 1.12 myself but sadly with no luck as just the fact alone that the Original SHeep SKin is smaller and Split into Two causes the Downscaling ARtificats to be beyond Good Looking :(

Does anyone by Chance have Tips on how to fix those tho as i tried a bunch of downscaling alorithmns with no Real CHance of fixing it and im not good at spriting honestly so i coudlnt resprite it also :(

Hey!

for some time now Minecraft has released mappings for older versions, and for new versions the jar files are unobfuscated entirely!

Its one thing to read the code, but did you actually "open the source"? I mean compile MC from decompiled and unobfuscated code?

If so how was the process?

My base is quite sprawling, and I've been working on it for about 2 years now. This is a guest house near my docks. I use Vanilla Plus Shaders, and Fabulously Optimized. Pic one is the basement crafting and utility area, pic 2 is the main floor, pic 3 is the back garden, pic 4 is another garden area, across the street between my wax and iron farms, and the last one is the Upstairs.

Up front: not my server, don't have the seed, sorry.

The quest is to find a stoney peaks or windswept hills cause I'd like some emerald deepslate ore, and since our server uses a Dynmap (a program that outputs the current world map to your web browser) I wanted to "fill in" the south east portion of our world as it was little explored (while the world border on our server is set to 50K, every one kind of agrees not to go out farther than 8-12k to keep the world sizes manageable for when we switch worlds and post a download)

I use Fabulously Optimised, and Vanilla Plus Shaders. Set up is a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU with an Intel Arc A770 GPU

edit, sorry I'm new and fail at formating

AMI Mod (modrinth.com)
submitted 1 month ago by to c/minecraft@lemmy.world

Today i found this mod called AMI, It looks like a nice recipe viewer and a bit different from EMI and JEI and very useful for big modpacks, I haven't tried it out but it's new and i think it's worth trying out.

AMI is an index and search mod for NeoForge 1.21.1 and Forge 1.20.1 designed for large Minecraft modpacks. It builds a client-side searchable index of items, entities, biomes, structures, and recipe data, with recommended integration for JEI and EMI for the recipe viewer support.

  • Material Grouping: Groups related block variants such as stairs, slabs, walls, and other material families to make > large item lists easier to browse.
  • Structured Query Search: Supports text search plus filters for tags, mods, categories, properties, and numeric metadata such as >energy:50000, >damage:15, or >dps:8.
  • Item Metadata Indexing: Detects useful item facts such as durability, tool stats, armor stats, food values, storage capacity, energy capacity, and fluid capacity where available.
  • Entity Indexing: Adds searchable entity entries with category, health, attack damage, spawn egg support, and >metadata hints such as mountable or tamable where detectable.
  • Biome and Structure Search: Includes indexed biome and structure entries alongside item and entity results.
  • Recipe Viewer Integration: Works standalone or alongside JEI/EMI, including lookup history, favorites, cheat-mode actions, and recipe transfer from AMI panels.
  • Built for Large Modpacks: Handles packs with 50K+ items, with added compatibility for some popular mods like Cobblemon, Create, Tinkers/SilentGear, and more

Reddit banned me for some political commentary in their BS way, and it looks like it's going to stick this time. Hello, I am u/TheStaffmaster and have been a contributing member of r/minecraft and r/hermitcraft for YEARS. In fact almost all of my karma came from r/minecraft! Not being able to post there is going to sting, but hopefully I'll at least be able to show off my builds.

Ask me anything: I'm a Minecraft Bedrock Edition add-on developer! I craft free and open-source add-ons (most of them are still private, though, until they reach a state and quality I'm satisfied with).

I'm not a Minecraft Marketplace partner, and I'm not affiliated with anyone who is.

Also, if you do not like Minecraft Bedrock Edition or add-ons, just ignore this post :) I don't seek any hate speech; rather, I want to answer questions from those who want to know more about this often misunderstood field.

This is a follow-up to my previous post here. TL;DR: I was wondering if there was a way to send a minecart through the End portal and have it land on a track.

A minecart dropped through the top of the portal seems to have too much vertical velocity to be able to clear the End platform.

However, by knocking out another one of the End portal frames and sending the minecart through the side of the portal, the minecart is able to clear the End platform and land on a track just beside it:

This means that a continuous minecart track loop to shuttle materials From the End and the Overworld is possible!

Now I just have to build a track from the Overworld spawn to the End Portal. I'll probably route it through the Nether so as to reduce the necessary number of chunks to be loaded.

One mystery remains: Entities seem to exhibit a 90 degree rotation of their velocity vector when traversing the portal. The minecart is travelling westward when it enters the portal, but the track that it lands on is north of the End platform. The sand is pushed northwards, but lands on the east side of the platform. Anyone know why this is?

I've been a long time Minecraft player, and just like everyone else I have periods of taking long breaks. Yesterday I was playing Minecraft with him on his ipad, and I found out that he doesn't have anyone at home that can help him with Minecraft. He's never even built a house before!

I spent most of today putting off my chores and building a base for him in creative to learn PC controls. I built a house, a greenhouse, an animal pen, 2 beacons, a nether portal base on both ends, and surrounded it with a wall. The plan is for me to turn it into easy mode survival, so I loaded up the base with food, armor, weapons, supplies, farm animals, iron golems, cats, dogs, and more.

I had an absolute blast designing this base! It has a lot of fun details, like the greenhouse having speckles of colored glass. The house is 2 stories with a basement and a tower that goes 2 floors higher. My favorite detail of the tower is making the enchanting table float by using half slabs.

The nether portal building is a huge portal using the boundaries of portal for the building. The walls are alternating between warped planks and crimson planks. The other side had gilded blackstone for floors and deepslate bricks for walls.

I decided that the higher floors of the buildings are on slabs, to prevent unintentional building. There's a ton of chests and barrels, so he can store things all over the place. I gave several max enchanted sets of weapons and armor, even more unenchanted sets of weapons, tools, and armor, and all the supplies necessary to build hundreds more. The kitchen is stocked with food and raw ingredients.

I'm so excited to play it with him! I'm going to turn it into a LAN world.
