Report: 42% of commercial pilots confirm being given tower instructions to "do a barrel roll".
People have other skills , people can enjoy video games and be good for aviation. This doesn’t mean one equals another. The US government is basically a monkey trying to fuck a football ..
If you've been on the various Flight Simulator networks like VATSIM and IVAO, you'd know plenty of gamers would quickly transition to IRL ATC with minimal additional training. And they're used to handling some seriously chaotic and dumb shit with a straight face and perfect protocol.
Check some vids or people's ATC setups on /r/flightsim
AirForceProud could run a whole airport by himself.
He would just have to watch out for hot-air balloons doing Mach 3.
I’m surprised there isn’t an entire genre of ATC games out there
There are, from random clicker sims to running actual air traffic in flight sims with such realism it took me a while to be certain it was a game (and not a air traffic union or something) when I looked up the website
Colab idea: ATC Sim and the planes are people flying in a flight sim so you talk to real people and instruct them.
How do we prevent further incidents like this from occurring?
Assemble an army of g*mers.
There are some hardcore people in the aviation video game space. I'm sure there's 2000 people in the country who are fully qualified to be an ATC that learned it from a hyper realistic simulator.
