[–] mox@lemmy.sdf.org 25 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (4 children) Highlights as I remember them from the live stream: Play progresses through 3 ages: Antiquity, Exploration, Modern Continue as a different civ when starting each new age Map expands with each new age Leader choice is separate from civ choice Districts Christopher Tin soundtrack Gwendoline Christie narration February 2025 release Edit: Here's the rerun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc3_EO6Bj2M&t=5406s permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] Yorick@sh.itjust.works 16 points 2 years ago Also noted : Navigable rivers terrain has cliffs armies seems to be condensed, with generals leading them. Fighting looks to be constant in some way? (or that's just the render for the trailer) cities seem to expand much more the leaders looks to have some stats which can be improved permalink fedilink source parent [–] Nighed@sffa.community 2 points 2 years ago (1 child) Interested how the map expansion will work in multiplayer. Concerned about the era resets. I like what they appear to have taken from humankind (eras, leader swaps, outposts/yowns, map elevation?) and old world (tile improvements culture bomb) Also concerned about how the maps seemed to just be cities, no gradual domestication of the world with farms, mines etc. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] mox@lemmy.sdf.org 1 point 2 years ago (1 child) Concerned about the era resets. What resets? The impression they gave was that you keep what you've already accomplished when moving to a new era. (It's always possible that I misinterpreted something, though. I guess we'll see.) permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Nighed@sffa.community 1 point 2 years ago There was something said (maybe by a youtuber?) about upgrades merging with your town centre or something on a new era (because so much is specific to a single era). Almost like playing 3 games on the same map. It also implies that tech disparities will be reset twice a game....not sure if that is good or bad. permalink fedilink source parent [–] TheBat@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 child) Play progresses through 3 ages: Antiquity, Exploration, Modern Anyone want to bet there would be more ages after DLCs are released? I'm guessing Industrial and Information ages added before and after Modern age, respectively. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Nighed@sffa.community 3 points 2 years ago Also a possibility of a humankind style neolithic era? But yes, expecting some required DLC unfortunately. But civ is a patient gamer staple - just wait for 8 to come out and 7's dlcs will be cheap! 🤣 permalink fedilink source parent [–] oxideseven@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 years ago Sounds similar to Humankind. Which is nice cus I like that game. permalink fedilink source parent
