Idk, I can't remember when I last bought an 'AAA' game. If gamers want to be that outraged, vote with their wallets. After the ESRB in the US formed (since that's my experience) it seems the government simply handwaved any need to get involved ever even as games came online and marketplaces got added. Parents similarly cannot simply just know the intricacies of every hobby their kid slides in and out of, and few hobbies are quite as insidious to may or may not allow extra purchases quite like gaming. Not even all millennials grew up as gamers, and can pass off that knowledge. And many more just play fifa with the boys on weekends and just wanted a product that works - they treat it like an online NES.
