The second paragraph could be from any game dev POV reading reviews of their game. I think it's the nature of the beast.

IDK how some can take it, the onslaught that the internet dishes out. I think it's a complex issue, and anonymity is probably a big part of the disconnect from community, as a consequence.

Do what you enjoy most, staying comfy, fostering your corner of the world/internet, and try not to fight every battle/combative poster, as it wears you down more than just reading the awful things.

I think the posters, that mean well and try to do something good, all wish they could do more, to have more positive impact, especially in this downward spiral of the present social-economical world. But that's not as easy as a back hand negative comment, and it is a lot easier to dish out negativity.

But I'm not an expert, just someone that trys to understand and sees trends everywhere. I'm also a tourist, as you said, not having a particular community I routinely visit or maintain.

I thought about making one, but never done so before, and don't know if I could handle seeing all the responses, plus the community I make would probably be too niche, and I wouldn't want to step on toes of other similar and small communities, and I wouldn't want to be on .world, because it's too big, and Lemmy has that tankie Dev problem, and it might be too much work than foreseen... All sorts of hills/walls to overcome for me.

Like I said, IDK how some posters do it, and I'm grateful for them, even though I never outwardly said that before, probably because it hasn't come up organically.

There has been some weird postings recently, as there are multiple accounts asking this same question in different communities. Then there is the new anti-ai communities and new accounts that post there, and there is now new anti-anti ai communities and new accounts there as well, as if responding to the anti ai stuff. Might be a coordinated effort, as it's easier to see changes and trends on Lemmy than on reddit, because of the size differences.

Path of Exile. Spent probably thousands of hours in it for years. I even made my own home grown loot filter, not compatable with neversink's. I left after they kept trying to sneak archnemesis back into the game. Never liked the gamble crafting system, and it felt like every update made less and less builds viable in maps.

I still watch Chris Wilson's videos on YouTube though.

The series goes into how the Republicans take over the Supreme Court shortly after the Civil Rights movements in the 1960s, around the time the parties switched. Sheldon goes into how dark money and Citizens United came into being, how it functions and influences court decisions and laws.

Then I found a website that tracks who in office takes dark money. To my great dissapointment, the man whistleblowning on dark money is listed there as taken dark money: https://www.trackaipac.com/congress

That website also follows new and upcoming candidates, but not all of them.

That sounds like what we have right now, and these people are trying to move the goal posts, arguing that what we have right now is easily replaceable. They are trying to change the narrative to get around the legislation, to get you to accept their very specific terminology, to make it a technicality. Push against this please.

Governmental agencies are abandoning their written duties for the current regime, including cops. Doesn't help that cops are being trained that the public is the enemy. Also, regular investigations and crime solving has been steadily going down. Demographically, conservative-racist people is the biggest group to be in law enforcement, meaning they will be less likely to help someone that's different. Just recently, the DOJ is refusing to enforce court rulings in favor of the orange king. It's horrible, and dire, and too many in power seem to not care or trying to ignore it.

Get ready to sell those stocks, then buy again after, before rescinds again.

It's a very good narrative focused game, but the balance is pretty bad. The game can seem impossible at times, especially when new, or you can make a build one shot the hardest bosses. If you over level towards the end of the game, you can miss out on cutscenes that happen in the middle of battle. Or miss out on ridiculous boss mechanics (throwing a building at you or forced party wipe mechanic). The music should win all the awards this year.
