There is a surprising number of gems in F-Droid. Simon Taltham's Puzzles is excellent, as is Breakout 71. Shattered Pixel Dungeon is fun too, and of course I live emulating games with Retroarch. Lichess is neat and has a lovely Android client if you play chess.

Any other good games on F-Droid?

Russian roulette but instead of pulling the trigger on a revolver, I install apps at random and see if my phone gets assimilated into a Muscovite cryptominer botnet.

Idle Fantasy. An offline idle game. To have quicker updates you can add their repo.

There are many 2048 clones out there, but this is the best I have found on F-Droid

Block drop, a tetris clone. Also OpenMW but you need to buy Morrowind to play that

Gurgle (wordle clone) and Gridle, word games. Cards With Cats is very good if you like to play Hearts. Ball2box, it's all in the name. Super Retro Mega Wars has some serviceable classics like asteroids and Tetris. SuperTuxKart is alright. Simple Solitaire Collection isn't maintained anymore, but hasn't been surpassed yet on f droid imo. Getting good mileage out of Lemuroid of course, the console emulator for people who don't like configuring things.

Yeah I used to just go on f-droid and scroll for a few hours to see what was out there and what would catch my eye. Sometimes you don't know what you're looking for until you see it. Wouldn't dream of going on the play store and just browse by category, but on f-droid it's doable.

Just mainly wanted to give a shout out to Cards With Cats, because it's so well made and cute and challenging and somehow never ends up on people's favorites lists.

I really like Gaugin. It is similar to SoDuKo, but a little more math. I also like to play Freebloks, which is like the board game Blokus.

I haven't finished it, but I thought Xeonjia: Ice Adventures was pretty good. It's a combination of sokoban and adventure games where you navigate the world by solving block puzzles.
