Whedon has no direct ties to Trek. Wrote the OG Buffy movie (not a producer), then later wrote/directed the show which was after TNG had ended. Problematic all the same.

I was thankful enough to have a tandem 7th-8th grade combo of English and History teachers who taught us the value of cognitive awareness. Followed by a high school math teacher that introduced me to "A True History of the United States" because they actually gave a damn. It's far too easy to see that we are the new Roman Empire, but on a speed run.
Just a vague sense of envy, really. Not much else to it.

Except for Nemesis where they decided to modulate his voice for no good reason so he'd sound "more alien" despite having spent the last 15ish years speaking as he did.
