In an exciting development for fans of British comedy, Radio 4 is set to air a new one-off special titled “The Call Of Cthudo,” which cleverly combines the classic board game Cluedo with the eerily imaginative universe of H.P. Lovecraft. This unique comedy-horror piece, crafted by James Henry, marks a reunion of sorts for members of the casts from beloved shows “Green Wing” and “Piglets,” bringing together familiar faces in a fresh context.

Scheduled to air in October, “The Call Of Cthudo” features a stellar lineup, with Mark Heap and Stephen Mangan taking on significant roles. Heap portrays Mister Violet, while Mangan steps into the shoes of Lord Black. The plot revolves around a group of color-themed strangers who find themselves trapped in a sprawling country house, faced with the challenge of solving a murder mystery. However, as the storyline unfolds, it becomes evident that the house—and the situation—are far stranger than any of them could possibly anticipate.

Monsters that lurk in the dark. Shadows in the corners of your eye. That person who doesn’t seem quite…human. The classic tropes of horror can be very fun to dive into when you’re writing, but what if you want to do something bigger? Then, my friend, it might be time for you to explore cosmic horror.

Cosmic horror, sometimes called Lovecraftian horror, is a subgenre of horror fiction that focuses on existential fears and themes of human irrelevancy. It’s experienced a major resurgence lately (which is…concerning) and so has become a very popular field to write in. It’s also popular in the world of movies, being used as a major trope in films like Event Horizon, The Endless, The Void, The Cabin in the Woods, Evil Dead, or The Mist (beware: the ending of this one is extremely disturbing).

Want to know more about this strange and esoteric genre? Read on, if you dare. (...)

I'm sure that many who use obsidian already knew of this plugin. But if you just need a quick and free way to sync your notes between devices this plugin is quite handy.

⚠️ This is a community plugin - Not been maintained for 2 years ⚠️

Remotely Save - https://community.obsidian.md/plugins/remotely-save

Sync notes between local and cloud with smart conflict: S3, Dropbox, webdav, OneDrive, Google Drive, Box, pCloud, Yandex Disk, Koofr, Azure Blob Storage.

Basically the only thing you have to do (after installing obsidian) is to create a New Vault with the same name (exp. "FkyGoogle123") in all your devices.

Then go in the vault setting

Community plugins> and search "Remotely Save"

Once installed click "option" and select "chose a remote service". After that, authenticate with the Auth of your service and it's done.

A new Sync option will now appear in the vault setting menu on the left. Click it to sync your file.

H.P. Lovecraft’s iconic mad scientist first came to cinematic life in 1985’s cult classic horror Re-Animator, embodied in unforgettable fashion by Jeffrey Combs, who reprised the maniacal role in 1990’s Bride of Re-Animator and 2003’s Beyond Re-Animator. 23 years after Combs’ third and final time playing Lovecraft’s take on Victor Frankenstein, the obsessively brilliant character is set to make a comeback in a modern-dress re-imagining.

With Combs himself not coming back for the de-hyphenated Herbert West: ReAnimator, the planned fresh adaptation of Lovecraft’s original story has cast a new mad scientist, tapping Joseph Morgan as the titular West. The Titans star will be joined by Arrow’s Katie Cassidy as Dr. Kate Locke (via exclusive report by Dread Central).

Windows just had its worst month on record. StatCounter’s newly published numbers for June 2026 put worldwide desktop market share for Windows at 56.61%, the first time it has ever fallen below 60% in the history of the dataset. Linux closed the same month at 4.36%, its highest number in a year. The r/linux crowd found the chart within hours, and the thread that followed was half celebration, half cross examination.

Here’s what the data actually says, what it probably doesn’t say, and why the comments didn’t believe it for a second.
