There are unconfirmed reports on YouTube that the official first teaser-trailer should be posted within the next hour ~ 7pm EDT.

When Toho Studios sought to bring back Godzilla nearly a decade after the long running Showa era had come to an end the studio envisioned a darker, more serious and grounded approach to the iconic character. They wanted something more akin to the original Gojira than the high flying and boisterous adventures that the series had previously ended on. While the “grounded” aspect very quickly departs from the Heisei era after its slow build political drama of the first film The Return of Godzilla it does retain some very core elements from this fresh start over the course of the remaining six films- and they greatly improve and expand upon those elements as well.

I recently finished a full rewatch of the seven film series and found myself immediately wanting to come back and spend more time with this world and these characters. I’m a huge fan of the franchise overall, and every entry is special and has aspects I love, but why is there such a strong connection and love for this specific set of films? There seems to be a yearning for that era of media and entertainment in general right now, but I refuse to believe that it’s simply nostalgia. (...)

An interesting analysis of GvK’s place in the industry’s recovery as the COVID-19 pandemic emergency wound down sufficiently that theatres reopened.

Godzilla vs. Kong eventually earned $470 million worldwide, making it a true, unqualified success. It was the first sign that en masse moviegoing could still exist in whatever our new normal would look like.

The community should stay focus on the Monsterverse lore and fanart. Posting news about new series is completely fine and welcome, but from now on we will ask the user to keep Brands and Platform names out of the title

(The name Godzilla is, in fact, a brand but for obvious reason it will be an exception from this new rule)

While those of us who were already fans of the Monsterverse extended Godzilla universe continuity have been watching Monarch: Legacy of Monsters on AppleTV, it turns out that Amazon Prime has had a licence to stream it until March 31st.

Currently, the second season of this popular action epic is rolling out on Apple TV, but season 1 is one of the most-watched Prime Video shows on the planet at the moment. This brief stint on Prime Video will be short-lived, however, since the series will be removed from Prime Video less than 2 weeks on April 1, 2026. Don't miss your chance to binge this celebrated series before it's gone.
