That was how I preferred my steak as a kid, with the addition of a bunch of paprika mixed in to the ketchup. Not because it was at all good, mind, but because I have always hated the flavor and texture of steak, my father loves it and would make it often when I was growing up, and doing that makes it not taste like steak anymore.

So....a popular recipe for those who hunt and eat bear is to take the tenderloin, cook it like this with a wild blueberry and mushroom sauce. It's fantastic. I choose bear too. It looks just like this but replace the strawberry with mushrooms.

Edit: I'm not speciesist. I'll sometimes choose man, but the preparation is completely different.

Yep! Before I went veggie I used to love IKEA meatballs with the fruit sauce. Because I have classy, upmarket tastes

Why choose? With Grindr, you can get both!

You know, maybe it's the neurospicy in me, but I just really despise all these food posts where people get their minds blown that sweet, fruity flavors pair well with carbs or protein.

But it's a slightly different flavor profile than your cultural norms! OMG!

Basic ass bitches, I'll eat literally the same single meal for a month and I'm still more adventurous.

Interestingly enough, you can get different premarinated meats to throw on your grill here with marinades like blueberry, cherry, etc. In addition to all the "normal" stuff like vinegar or yogurt based marinades.

The pineapple pizza discussion always gets me with this. I worked for a pizza company in Portland, Oregon and one of the best foods I've ever eaten was a pizza with an oil base, mozzarella, gorgonzola, apple, walnut, and bacon. My partner's favorite was one they do with peach, brown sugar, and bacon. Off the top of my head theres: Cranberry chicken salad, teriyaki anything, honey ham/turkey/chicken nuggies.... BARBECUE. KETCHUP ON BURGERS/HOTDOGS. Meat and sweet together are not this weird foreign concept people pretend it to be.

Meat with berries is not an absurd idea at all? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lingonberry_jam

In fact, I ate some for lunch today. :D

Who am I to say, I am no judge of food. I eat marmite neat from the bottle.

  • I think this is just one step on the way to this meal's final form: Sauerbraten.

All other berries and honey is ok, but the strawberries creep me out - idk why though

    All berries matter

    Especially when they’re in season.

  • People always ask man or bear when they should be asking bear or bull?

Guess I'm saving up for a good fillet steak to try this out with.

Maybe mix the honey with water and glaze at the end of cooking - berry wise definitely a compote with black pepper?
