It's a decent likeness, but somehow not quite creepy enough.

I wouldn't pay money or travel to see it, but if I happened to walk by it and I was sure of not catching a charge, I'd probably be willing to stop and piss on it.

His weird body is the creepy part of this statue. It looks like his body is underwater and you’re viewing it from above the surface in the way that makes it look squashed.

Ah. I looked at the second picture in the article.

    Torso is too short.

I'd still be willing to piss on it.

Edit: Looking at it again, I still think the creepiest part about it is it looks like Charlie Kirk.

Sergio Furnari, originally from Italy, had hoped the statue of the deceased far-right activist, which he intends to display in Times Square, would raise “millions” of dollars. Instead, he said he has been inundated by messages from people saying they intend to urinate on the sculpture.

To add injury to insult, Furnari recently broke his foot working on the statue, after tripping over a roll of tape in his studio.

“Is it cursed? Maybe. I don’t know,” he told the Guardian.

I didn't like the guy okay. But honestly at this point some of the shit the right has done to him seems really disrespectful.

Like way beyond a leftist saying "charlie kirk was a racist, misogynistic grifter"

Like what they do is well beyond discussing traits.

It's almost like they taxidermy-ed him (or whatever the word is) to roll him around to sell cheap shit to people who never knew who he was until he died.

This statue. His wife's behavior. The "pregnancy" . TPU

    It's all so deranged.

I don't agree with his profession but let's be a little honest. It was a grift. He likely didn't believe half the shit he said. But that's all he will ever be known for.

    Kinda sad.

But also this "artist" sounds like a grifter themselves. Just thought they could do a cash grab.

"I wasn’t a fan of Charlie,” he said. “Like one thing that I couldn’t stand about him while he was alive [was] when he was talking about Palestine. [Kirk would say]: ‘Oh no, Palestine doesn’t exist.’ I thought: ‘Well, this guy must be out of his mind.’”

I think he was a harmful hatemongerer and I am glad he is dead.

But I agree about how off-putting it is for so many people to continue profiting off his death. They are scavengers milking a corpse for all they can. It's not about respecting the person he was, it's about shamelessly exploiting him for their own gain.

This artists just needs to get good at marketing.

If he made it into a guerilla piece in some park and then "someone" shot it in the neck, pouring red paint on it, and then he "complained" about it to the press

....then it would be worth a lot

Wonderful likeness. I know I might seriously injure myself if I were to punch it in the face… But I still want to punch it in the face.

    I'm pretty sure that's people's plan...

Instead, he said he has been inundated by messages from people saying they intend to urinate on the sculpture.

If you get the right angle, the splashback could be pretty realistic...

... Damn, if I had $100k to spare (and a drill) I might genuinely add that fountain to my yard.

Labeling fascist culture war ghouls "activists" may literally be correct but I refuse to consider them so. They are not activists as we colloquially consider them. They are agitators, stochastic terrorists and our media has been laundering their awful slop for far too long.

Have fun in hell Charlie you scumbag.

Really takes off from the headline...

He'd have been in the money if he'd just cranked that shit out a few months earlier.

His mistake was trying to make something that looked good, rather than churning slop you could push on a bunch of dipshits with more money than sense.

Ehh. You know, that because of this article, some trump peon will hear about this, and actually pay the guy for the statue with public money, right?
