Pineapple on pizza is not only valid but slams.

Fight me.

Anyone who says it's gross, but has never actually tried it, it makes you sound like a picky snob.

Pineapple, red onion, bacon, and a drizzle of BBQ sauce on a pizza is one of the most delicious things I have ever had.

It is so fucking good. My fave is pepperoni and pineapple. The sweet acidity of the pineapple with the salty umame acidity of the pepperoni and the richness of the cheese make an excellent combination.

My problem with pineapple, or any other divisive topping, isn't the topping itself, it's getting it in a group environment.

For example: Someone is getting six pizzas for twelve people (don't get hung up on the numbers, just round ones for illustrative purposes), 1/2 pizza per person. But someone says "I want Hawaiian," and someone else says "I want anchovies." Now two people have a whole pizza to themselves, that they won't finish, leaving ten people to share four pizzas, .4 pizzas per person. And just because you like Hawaiian, doesn't mean you only like Hawaiian, so when it comes maybe you get a couple slices of Hawaiian and one slice of something else, further reducing the supply of mass appeal pizzas for everyone else. Every time this happens the "normal" pizzas are gone before everyone has their fill and 1/2-3/4 of the specialty pizzas goes to waste.

I've got a weird pizza I love too, but I don't request it in a group setting because I'm not an asshole (at least not in this way). Your taste isn't wrong, I don't think there is any such thing, but if you request it in a group setting (or your the one making the order and you get it for yourself) you're an asshole. And if you get all smug about it being "valid" and "slamming" if anyone dares to complain, you're a double asshole.

Disgusting. Have an upvote (even though it's apparently a fairly popular opinion in this post, haha). If you give me such a pizza, I'd gladly pick off all the pineapple cuts and eat them separately, either before or after... but not during!

the only thing i don't like about this internet debate is the people who think they have super elite ball knowledge about salty+sweet being good. everyone knows about salty+sweet, i love all sorts of salty+sweet things, i just do not like hot pineapple and think it makes the texture weird on pizza.

my weird pizza topping that i love is cashews. i've gotten a lot of "ewww!" responses to that, which i find so fuckin weird because they're not exactly known for having a strong flavor.
