Rap music is the least aesthetically appealing music genre in general. I simply can't stand rap songs with a lot of swear words in lyrics, supporting street chaos and sex activity in lyrics, fast and high pitched vocals. Just not my style at all.

We need less beauty pageants and drag races.

Drag queens and Trans people are a way of life, and some of the talented, quirky and elegant individuals I've ever seen

    RuPaul is a diva

    Epstein didn’t kill himself.

There is a conspiracy. The fact that he was taken off suicide watch, nobody was watching him, and he was given the tools to kill himself was 100% deliberate. That’s the conspiracy.

I think most conspiracies are stupid, people stepping over $20 to pick up a dime. There are background actions driving events that they ignore but instead people look for UFOs, assassinations, or “second shooters” like they’ve got it all figured out.

It's not like it's hard to have someone approach him and say "if you don't do it yourself we'll do it but we'll make it hurt" or to threaten someone else with violence. Provided he actually cares if someone else gets hurt.

People who use doordash and food delivery apps extensively, without a disability, are some lazy ass people, who deserve the shitty experience and high price it costs. Just go fucking get it yourself if you want it hot and fresh and not thrown on the ground.

We need to bring back testing to vote. No, not the intentionally obtuse Jim Crow kind. Basic civics knowledge like what year it is, what are the branches of government, etc...

AOC is a spineless milquetoast establishment liberal who voted to continue arming Israel (or more accurately, voted against a measure to discontinue funding).

I enjoy cleaning the gross hair and gunk out from the shower drain, especially after I've moved into a new place. I am easily grossed out, so I find it stomach turning, but it feels so cathartic. The grossness is a part of that, I think. And then you have the immediate satisfaction of things draining much better.

I recently spent a year crashing in a friend's spare room, and I found myself weirdly satisfied that, being a household of 3, the shower drain would need cleaning much more often than when I lived alone. The fact that it's a gross chore that's rarely thought about until it starts getting quite bad means that I liked being able to handle this chore. Who else would be weird enough to enjoy the task, even as they're trying not to puke?

We should try a worldwide intermediary period of 25 years where men would be barred from participating in politics. No mandates, no votes.

People take the "extrovert" and "introvert" way to far. Instead of being an observation of behavior, they take it to extremes, try turning it into a "quirky" personality and then role-play it everywhere. All due to social media. They talk about it like people who believe in astrology talk about astrology. And then they pretend they're super happy, when they're actually miserable and depressed but refuse to think their "introvert" persona is the issue.

Alien 3 was a better film than Aliens. Also, killing off Newt and Hicks was the right move to bring the film back to its bleak horror roots.

The reverence for artists in our society is way overdone. I’m not just talking about the Andy Worhols and Taylor Swifts that make WAY too much money for what they give to society. I’m talking about the every day artists. People are way too excited for people who make art as a career, and many of them who complain that they are underpaid are wrong. Art is a fun thing that everyone enjoys doing. Be grateful you are able to monetize it at all.

A good friend of mine is an artist... he studied pottery, has actual degrees in it. He's an incredible potter.

He and I get into heated arguments over what 'art' is, and who can be an 'artist'. I claim that an artist is anyone who declares themselves to be an artist, and art is anything an artist has created and has declared it as art. He claims that an artist is only someone who has dedicated time to studying the art and has put in many hours of practice, and art can only be created by a 'real' artist.

I concede that someone who has studied and practiced is much more likely to create good art, but even shitty art is still art.

I posted an unpopular opinion there and people just downvoted it and got mad, lol.

Basically I said that complaining about a paywalled article in comments is annoying and contributes nothing, especially if it's from an independent long form writer. If someone links to paid media and you don't want to pay, the post isn't for you. Just go away. (Or participate in the comments anyway, people don't read the articles most of the time regardless.)

Some people said "nooo if you make a post and I can't see the content without paying you're being a meanie because I can't participate"

Not every post is for everyone.

Good mythical morning was never a good show. Rhett and Link are two of the worst examples of neurodivergence being repackaged as funny or quirky. Those two are both so disconnected from reality I'm honestly shocked there's not more industry gossip around working with them.

You want unpopular? I'll give you unpopular. No-kill animal shelters are ultimately more harmful to animals than kill shelters.

Instead of euthanizing one violent or chronically ill or old or otherwise unadoptable animal, you spend your limited space and resources keeping it alive while you turn away a dozen perfectly healthy and well-behaved animals who could have been adopted but were instead let loose on the street or were euthanized elsewhere.

Even euthanizing otherwise adoptable animals is a net positive, because there are more companion animals in need of homes than there are homes willing and able to take them in.

As long as it's legal to make your animals make more animals, culling their populations will remain an ecological necessity. Which brings me to unpopular opinion #2: it should be straight up flat out illegal to own a pet that isn't spayed or neutered, no exceptions. I don't care if you think your munchkin cat's fucked up tiny legs are cute. The state should be able to seize your animals and have them fixed with or without your consent.

In 40 years, GenZ will be the new Boomers. They won't understand the new Generation D (for "dummy") that's too lazy to make their own bowl of cereal without a robot doing it for them. GenD will call GenZ out of touch because they choose to bathe themselves alone rather than shower with a bathing robot. GenZ will reminisce about the brief time they drove their own car, how this new generation just doesn't understand, and the few remaining GenX'ers will one-up them from the retirement home with talk about stick shifts. Oh, how that new lazy generation knows nothing about the hellscape of manually vacuuming the house. Or having a job. GenD will put down GenZ about not knowing how to live in a fully-automated world, while GenZ quips back about how they were the ones that built that fully-automated world. The big generational debate will be on whether or not to elect robots to Congress or just have AI run the country. And that GenD should liquidate and redistribute the wealth GenZ is hoarding. I hope I'm still around, and I hope there's popcorn!!! :-)
