    Afghans have had people fucking their shit up for like 4 generations now .. they don't really know anything else, pretty sure they were relatively normal prior to the US and USSR fuckery.

    CIA funded islamists but did not create them. They gained broad popular support after Soviet occupation of Afghanistan when initial Afghani communist government imploded and USSR took control and installed their own puppet.
