There's projects like jellysearch which improve search noticeably. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] brenstar@programming.dev 3 points 10 months ago (1 child) My library is roughly 40TB in size. I think the main issue is just the shear amount of files to parse when it comes to my music library. I did add a meilisearch and that did help a lot, but still slow enough to find it cumbersome permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Chewy7324@discuss.tchncs.de 1 point 10 months ago (1 child) Yeah, music slowing down jellyfin search was the reason I moved to navidrome. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] brenstar@programming.dev 2 points 10 months ago Yeah, I have that set up too and searching on that is very quick and responsive. I still end up just using Plexamp because I like the automatic playlists and radios. [–] blackn1ght@feddit.uk 2 points 10 months ago (1 child) Does it work out the box with Chromecast yet? I gave it a go a while ago and it seemed incredibly convoluted, where as Plex just works. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] NateSwift@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 10 months ago I've had absolutely zero issues on Chromecast, Roku and iOS/Android apps. [–] 0x0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 point 10 months ago I started using NixOS and it has been ridiculously easy. In your /etc/nixos/configuration.nix: services.jellyfin.enable = true; If you need more options, just search. permalink fedilink source parent
[–] LoafedBurrito@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 point 10 months ago Setup is not really easy. Plex takes 5 minutes. permalink fedilink source parent
