I accidentally deleted the registration email for lemmy when signing up, is there some way I can get the accounts deleted so I can re register it? I just signed up for lemmy, so it's actually two accounts that i need it for.

It would be nice if we could permanently save an override for the Sort Type for every Community we want to. In example for Memes I would go with "Top Day" and for News oriented Communities without too many posts, I would have "New".

Also having a different setting for Global and a default for Communities would be nice too. Let's say the Global could stay at "Active" or "Scaled" in example, and when we open a Community, the default could be "New" (unless we override it with the previous suggestion).

I don't know what happened, but since yesterday, the Boost for Lemmy App stopped working so I visited the instance website (dbzer0) in my browser and I was getting these... texts with choices (which lead to even more pointless texts)

I don't think I am banned because if I use VPN, I can reload the webpage on my WiFi and see the real dbzer0 lemmy again, and I can login and create posts, but the moment I turn off my VPN, it all goes back to the same white page with those texts.

My Mobile Data also works loads the website, but my WiFi doesn't without a VPN for some reason.

Please help!

How can I disable this profanity filter? It's getting a bit ridiculous.

When I first joined here, I thought it just censored slurs so I was fine with it.

Now I've come to realize it censors way too much shit and it's getting really annoying seeing "removed" all the time.

I've been trying to join the Matrix space but I get this error:

Is this something on my end? My account is on the nope.chat homeserver and I'm using Fluffy chat as a client but I tried to join via Element too. Thank you for your help!

I see communities with almost no posts and the only moderator deleted their account. Shouldn't these be deleted?

Using lemmy.zip here.

I went through the web browser to change my display name. I made sure to click “save” as well. But it is still showing “Aedaz_” here on the app as well as the web browser.

Am I missing something?

I have 2 suggestions:

  1. show subscribed Communities first / top in list
  2. show current selected Community's description, especially for the rules (but also to help identify which Community it was)

When we want to cross-post, its usually where we subscribed and interested into. So it makes sense to me to list them on top. Otherwise after clicking the cross-post, I have to open my profile to see the actual address of the Community again, to identify its address. As I am subscribed to more than a single Community with same topic, I also need to see the rules and its icon too, to make sure its the correct Community I want to cross-post.

I use Misskey forks (currently Catodon, after having migrated from Calckey) to interact with the Fediverse, especially the part encompassing the threadiverse (mostly Lemmy), because I like having a microblogging feed while being also able to interact with (and posting my own) Lemmy threads (and Catodon, specifically, implemented this interesting "Forums" feature for better interoperability with Lemmy, a feature of which I'm using right now to post this question thread).

Because I don't have a Lemmy account anymore, and because federation isn't always immediate between the threadiverse and what I'd call the "microbloggingverse" (encompassing Mastodon, Friendica and several other platforms, including Misskey and its forks), I developed the habit of using some non-Cloudflare Lemmy instances (including, but not limited to, lemmy.ml) as a guest to browse global Lemmy threads sorted by "New Comments", copying its federated URL and fetching it directly from my Misskey side whenever I want to interact with a post or comment.

I also use said Lemmy instances to check my own modlog because I'm not entirely sure if I'd see anything (e.g. some DM or notification) from my side if a post/comment were to be removed or if some community/instance kicked/banned me. As far as it seems, my modlog is clean, and so is the modlog for my earlier, older Calckey account, I don't seem to have broken any rules so far...

... but I don't know. I recently interacted with some threads that doesn't show up in my profile when seen from any of the Lemmy instances I use for browsing Lemmy.

If said post don't show up, something tells me that I wouldn't be able to see modlogs for not-properly-federated posts if a mod action were to happen.

Does this proceed? Could it be happening that I'm not seeing modlog entries for my own Misskey accounts because these entries didn't properly federate with the instances I'm relying on to browse Lemmy? Or is this just because I've so far been successfully respectful towards my peers and never broke any community/instance rules (despite my own replies sometimes making my imposter syndrome scream inside me)?

@lemmy_support Why do only SOME updates reach Lemmy from Mastodon?

I posted to Lemmy from Mastodon: https://lemmy.ml/post/49566110

A Lemmy user's comment on that post reached me on Mastodon. I replied from Mastodon & my reply showed up on Lemmy, as hoped.
https://lemmy.ml/post/49566110/26507040

Later, I tried to reply from Mastodon to other Lemmy comments on the same post. Why didn't these replies reach Lemmy? https://mastodon.social/@modem/_down/116907072443986550

  • I made a Piefed* account, but I can't see the comments and posts from my Lemmy account. Or vice versa. What's up with that? Is there a "wall" between these communities?
  • Is there a way to transfer posts etc from one account to another?

ConheciNoForro doesn't appear in searches, but the URL shows an existent community.

This is the first time I am noticing this symbol on this post: https://discuss.tchncs.de/post/63754269/26869571

On lemmy.world (original instance) it looks like this:

I know the [M] symbol means the user is a moderator of the community, but what does the red shield to the left of it mean? I don't seem to have that on the communities I am a moderator of, and wasn't able to find anything in the documentation.

I am relatively new and un-experienced user. I have an account on Lemmy.ml instance. I used to be able to vote and down vote posts. I am using Thunder on Android. All of the sudden i can no longer vote neither up or down. In fact when I do so from within the post itself I get the error shown in the attached image "invalid_bot_action".

Does anyone know why is it happening?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I definitely have it saved. See screenshot. But it never auto-fills. What's the deal?

When enabling the option Show Upvote %, sometimes the numbers get really long, to a point of comically long. Even down to 14 numbers after decimal separator, which is a bit too excessive in my opinion. My request is to cut it down to something like 4 or 3 numbers at max, or have a setting specifically to these type of information.

My browser says (in F12 console of firefox):

SyntaxError client.js:2:1170023
    hw https://лемми.опенсорс.рус/static/0799f19b/js/client.js:2

the file starts with

/*! For license information please see client.js.LICENSE.txt */
(()=>{var e,t,n,r,o={45850:(e,t,n)=>{"use strict";n.d(t,

and DeepSeek says that e,t,n,r,o should be separated by spaces, i.e. e, t, n, r, o

The lemmy.ml instance adds that image without problems.

Lately I've been seeing a huge amount of new Lemmy subs in different languages, or subs specifically about certain regions, countries, etc.

I very much applaud this growth, and think it's awesome that so many more people can enjoy posts in their own languages.

Having said that, 50% of the posts I see now are in languages that I don't remotely speak, are specifically and only for countries on the other side of the world for me, or are about subjects I really am not interested in ) mainly anime.. so much anime...

I keep blocking these subs when I see them but they show up faster than I can plug them, and my blocklist ia getting larger and larger and honestly bits becoming a nuisance

Is there a way to at least whitelist languages? I speak a good amount of languages but giving me twenty posts in twenty different languages is just... Not working

Also, if we could perhaps tag subs with labels like "news" and "anime" I could then whitelist or blacklist those tags that I like

Is there anything like that available on Lemmy?

I complained about it several times here and to various instances admins. Screenshot from same thread. I have literally been cursed out, called "stupid," "c***,” "b****,” and other unsavory slurs. I quit complaining because nothing was ever done, and I realize this is a free service offered and admins have lives, jobs, and plenty of work and expense by generously offering this service. I just thought it was worth another try.

Thank you

I'm currently flagging my account as a bot, but I don't know if it applies in my case.

I'll give some context: I use a script that runs in my computer to fetch from 50+ different sources (mostly RSS feeds) and post them on different lemmy communites.

I programmed the script to avoid duplicates, it fetches the URLs from the community before posting, this way it can know if a link was already posted.

I also manually delete posts that weren't supposed to be posted (i.e when a logic in my filters fail to prevent them from being posted).

Knowing all this, is this account still considered a bot? I'm not running it 24/7, I run a script like 2x or 3x daily and manually delete any link that wasn't supposed to be posted.

I am able to access the picture on https://lemmy.rmict.nl/pictrs/image/2a8a24cc-6f85-445f-923d-b3c75cddcc80.jpeg

But it just does not save the setting

I have Nginx proxy manager in front of it but this just forwards to the internal proxy port: 10633

I am trying to see
!rust_rus@xn--e1aghfa.xn--e1aqbccjfc.xn--p1acf
community in community search

here it’s web page:
https://xn--e1aghfa.xn--e1aqbccjfc.xn--p1acf/c/rust_rus
https://лемми.опенсорс.рус/c/rust_rus

but button says “Waiting subscribtion” and stays yellow.
So, I am unable to subscrite to that community as a user of lemmy.ml
