I would love to revisit some games, but the online aspect is a big portion that I've been missing. I would love to revisit some of the world's people created in little big planet. Is that possible?

Having read through some of the comments I just wanted to add one thing. If you find that one distro doesn't quite do what you need, don't be afraid to wipe it again and install a different distro. I migrated from windows 10 to Linux mint, I found it frustrating for gaming, and then from mint I switched to cachyOS, which is built from the same OS that the steam deck uses. I haven't had any similar issues since. Find what works for you, and don't be afraid to try something else

I was a picky eater as a child. There are tons of foods I didn't like and would not eat. As an adult I've been challenging myself to try these foods again. The most dramatic difference in what I tasted versus what I expected was just fresh cut strawberries. I was at a wedding and they had a fruit display. I tried one, and then I got more. It turns out that a lot of the foods I didn't like as a kid were either not the right temperature or bad quality.

I think that in order to explain my thoughts on this I want to explain how warehouses transport pallets of stuff with plastic wrap. Using plastic wrap for transporting/moving stuff is incredibly useful, but not how you might think. It's not that the stuff inside is any safer than if you didn't use it. It's more that the stuff inside is incredibly contained and likely to hold it's shape even if things start to break. Which means you won't have a giant mess to clean up, and you can reasonably rely on it to support any other things stacked on top of your pallet.

This wouldn't work for safeguarding your house, because if you've ever dunked something wrapped in Saran wrap you'll notice that it's not always water tight. Add extreme winds and the wrap will likely peel off and make things worse. I think you'd probably have a giant mess, and be no more protected than if you didn't use any Saran wrap at all

I feel like every season tries something a little bit new on the premise of the space race. I also feel like there is too much show for how much I enjoy every season. The characters are oddly flat, and their dialogue is cringe. Also they do some things that are just utterly fucked up. One character fucks her husband's best friend's child (who was also best friends with her dead son growing up together).

The space stuff can be dramatic and fun and all of it is visually well made, but I am increasingly finding that the fluff between the truly space sequences are less and less worth it

I have a friend who worked relatively high in big tobacco. He rationalized that his job is going to exist no matter what, and that if he takes it, he will be able to benefit and do something about it. I don't know what he meant by doing something, but it didn't seem to eat at him. But either way he only worked there for about 2 years before getting recruited somewhere else

The universal translator has always been a bit loose, though. If you apply that same scrutiny to the next generation, then every episode with Worf would never explain any of his Klingon culture without the words automatically translating to English.

The game comes out today. Has anyone had a chance to check it out yet? I played the demo and wrote my review below.

I played the demo on steam deck and I mostly enjoyed it. It more or less plays out a tutorial mission while the events of the pilot play out.

Game play (in the demo) had 4 distinct parts: space combat, away missions, navigating and flying around space, and ship "stuff".

I disliked the space combat the most. It was an odd mix of turnbased and real-time actions. I never knew where the enemy ship was, and I had trouble balancing the repairs i needed to survive.

Away missions are essentially choose your own adventure text games with some cool art depicting the scenes based on who you select for your mission and what they do.

Navigating and flying around space was fun, but I can see it getting very boring very quickly. Fly from wherever you are to the next system. fly around the planets picking up resources, investigating signals, talking to civilizations. I think if they find a creative way to mix this part up, it can be tons of fun.

Ship "stuff" is very derivative of games like fallout shelter. You have a sideview of the entire ship. you can repurpose rooms for different things, assign personnel to various places like medical or engineering. You can even install new weaponry or equipment to use in space combat or for flying around.

I'll be picking up this game eventually, I am curious what anyone else thinks about it, too.

I am looking ahead to Christmas gifts for my wife. We have the week off and have talked before about having an at home spa day. I am going to get some exfoliating scrubs and some lotions. What are some things you like? Are there any whole kits for the home you are aware of?

I feel like I'd go to bath and bodyworks or bed bath and beyond, but there aren't any of either nearby any more.
