The article crucially says Toyota delayed participating in the first part of the cycle so they look "smart" only with luck and the benefit of selective retrospect. Sorta like a guy who got wasted and overslept and avoided dying in a plane crash.

I can attest this is true. Before the US $7,500 EV credit expired last year I went to multiple Toyota dealerships and they had zero meaningful EV offerings. They tried to put me in a truck.

If all AI really is classified as a "weapon" for export-control purposes, well... in the US possession of weapons is a protected individual right. The US gov should be training open weight models and encouraging self-hosting.

Guess I'm glad these preseason games are borderline unwatchable anyway.

Andy always runs the most vanilla placeholder offense imaginable and uses them as purely a data collection point about the marginal players on the roster, or to gather data about the opponent.

TR franchise built-in benchmarks have been used as a YouTube-friendly hardware review datapoint since 2015.

Maybe they're worried that in the current market almost nobody is going to have the hardware to run a nextgen AAA game with acceptable performance.

If they delay 2 years it's possible conditions could improve (though I wouldn't bet on it).

From a purely strategic perspective wouldn't the US be better off saying "no more attacks on shipping or we destroy Karg island entirely"?

    Karg:

    1. is a legit military target.
    2. doesn't contain any civilian housing etc.
    3. would cripple all IRGC income if destroyed.
    4. would reverse any pragmatic incentive China has to side with Iran at all. If the realistic possibility of getting oil from Iran itself drops to zero, Chinas incentive flips to simply getting and keeping the straight open to all shipping.

My go-to "relatively easy, quick and cheap" meal is some kind of grilled meat with a side salad.

Well meat is expensive as hell, and salad components are widely contaminated. FML I guess.
