Not only did none of the models fail to predict the actual warming that we have experienced, but the claims about renewables are completely disingenuous if not outright lies. The only demand destruction ever witnessed for carbon based fuels was due to work from home during COVID. Current consumption levels exceed pre-covid levels and continue to grow. Yes renewable use is growing, but it is additional power consumption, not replacement. We will be pumping negative eroi oil out of the ground with solar powered pumps at some point. Have to burn all of the carbon.
Let's build Snowpiercer, but skip the train. What could go wrong?
I have a law degree from a top tier school, passed the bar, have practiced law for 19 years, and filed hundreds of lawsuits in my particular niche. I would be scared to file a lawsuit that is not in my specialty or something closely related because I have doubts about my ability to do so competently. There are so many ways to lose a lawsuit that it is very difficult to litigate successfully without years of training. You would need experienced lawyers to teach the classes.
I doubt learning the requisite skills is worth the effort if you are not likely to ever be involved in a lawsuit (most people are not).
All of that said, perhaps the legal system needs to be reformed to remove the complications that necessitate the training, but those complications are the results of centuries of trying to provide fairness and due process to all parties involved.
Defunding is not how, but he is the stupidest person to ever hold the office, so expecting him to know better is a recipe for disappointment.
You can see "stripes" on humans in the infrared. Most of us are actually pretty splotchy. There is variation in how the blood vessels run which distributes the body heat on our skin unevenly. My Indian and African American coworkers' skin looks pretty much the same as mine (white guy) in the infrared.
I'd make one with Lindsey Graham and his ladybugs, but no one wants to see that.
Disappointed that it hadn't actually happened yet.
Dallas - Fort Worth Metro is the biggest market in Texas. Numerous random DFW suburbs are 250k+ people.
Back before reddit permabanned me, they would delete posts where I would say things like, "Get them before they get you. They're clearly planning to get you." Ironically, I got permabanned for asking what Eisenhower would do if he attended a Nazi march and was given access to a machine gun, because that was advocating violence. Much less advocating in that post than in some of the ones that were deleted. My grandfather's generation had a much better approach to dealing with Nazis than we do.
My cats exclusively bathe each other to initiate kitty cat combat. "I'm bored, do you want to play?" I tried it on my wife and it initiated combat in that context too.
Kick his ass out and off the ballot. Maybe he can f up the Republican primary.
Not a movie, but the song Jimmy Olsen Blues by the Spin Doctors seems on point.
