I switched to Photon so... a little, I guess?
I guess I forgot to consult my abacus.
This isn't a game. We don't have to pick a side. The Iranian government is an oppressive regime that murders homosexuals, imprisons journalists, and represses women. Their citizens live under absolute censorship and face brutal, violent repression for dissent. We're meant to cheer for that now... because Epstein? Cover up their crimes? Pretend they're fighting for justice?
Whether it's an immoral war of choice or people escaped justice for crimes associated with Epstein, why would we let it turn us into shittier people? Iran are not good guys.
The US being a villain doesn't make Iran a hero. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet of villainy.
Yeah, Iran's unmatched in respect for human rights and the laws of war.
Civilians in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are at grave risk from ongoing Iranian strikes in response to US and Israeli military attacks on Iran, Human Rights Watch said today. Many of the Iranian attacks have struck civilian residential buildings, hotels, civilian airports, and embassies, and have unlawfully targeted civilian objects such as financial centers.

A lot of the time this is just AI-generated trash, not an actual person linking to their stuff. They are both scammers and spammers.
Townflex is AI plagiarism repackaging trending stories to siphon clicks.
I haven't deep dived into the cybersecguru but there isn't a single named human being associated with that site. One "person" claims to have written maybe 15000 words of journalism in the last 24 hours and doesn't want credit. This is from their About page:
My name is The CyberSec Guru, and I’m the founder of The CyberSec Guru. I’ve been fascinated by technology and online security since my High School days.
Again, I haven't spent a lot of time looking, but this is probably AI slop.
This happens all the time. They fly under the radar for a moment until someone notices them. Then their accounts get banned.
Stermy4u was banned for promoting their AI plagiarism site.
Have you reported the other user? It's way less likely anyone will notice if they're not reported. If you report a post make sure to say that the user is a spammer so mods/admins will look at account activity.
Oh yeah, totally. I was thinking that after I posted it. They knew what they were getting but were shocked at what they got.
Oh damn I'm gonna watch the shit out of this if it's playing nearby
The WHCA invited him - and organize the entire event. Bush didn't have anything to do with it. They definitely knew who he was and that the character was satirical.
He was invited by the WHCA, not the White House or Republicans. They knew what they were getting.
The Independent is from the UK. They're mid as far as newspapers go. They're also not saying this was a formal announcement:
Donald Trump hinted he will run for president again during a speech at the White House correspondents’ dinner on Friday (24 July).(Emphasis added)
Announcements are the destroyers of uncertainty.
Enough time has passed that we can say definitively that the original story is false. At best it's bad reporting; at worst it's misinformation engineered to harvest clicks. If it were true, to say nothing of the news environment, this community would be absolutely wallpapered with stories about it and there'd be a stickied thread about the constitutional crisis.
