It looks like a terminal you'd get the blueprints for and put down in your base. I've been wondering how to do this since I heard about it a while ago but couldn't remember the details. I'll try it later.

Currently reading The Flying Sorcerers by David Gerrold & Larry Niven. About 1/3 way through and not sure what to make of it so far. Very strange!
