Then it decides to roll back the update because fuck you, and then you’re sitting there disappointed that it took 20 minutes from you you’ll never get back
Around a year ago, my dad went on a fishing trip with a friend, and his kayak flipped over due to how turbulent the conditions were, and due to that he lost his phone (which was in a waterproof pouch) in the ocean, which had likely multiple thousand family photos that weren’t backed up at all. The friend he was with decided to go diving in that area to try find it, but never did despite how calm the water had been after that incident.
Now he backs his photos up from his new phone to Google drive, however I’m not sure whether he’s actually checked if it’s syncing or not.
And even harder when older teachers who already hate technology latched on to it as an excuse.
I’m glad I’m out of middle and high school, both were hell for my ability to learn due to teachers like this. I’ve tried and tested the fact that I objectively learn better on computers than books and writing, but the many teachers who would outright ban laptops in their classes because “you can’t learn on those, you all get distracted” would cripple my ability to learn. Writing is difficult for me as well, and I’ve always had horrible and slow hand writing, but I have abnormally fast typing speed and can type notes while listening fully to the teacher, which is why I breezed through my more tech focused classes for instance.
Of course, I don’t blame those technologically conservative teachers for their views, since monetary interests have crippled the medium enough to make digital education difficult for the vast majority of people, but that doesn’t mean some aren’t the opposite and learn quicker and of higher quality on digital mediums rather than the standard analog mediums.
Looks like a Danube class runabout transporter from Star Trek DS9
Is he sure it wasn’t four years?
That is a horrendous take. ADHD is prevalent enough for tons of people to completely forget they’re thirsty until they’re dehydrated, but it doesn’t mean we are inferior.
No matter how much eugenics happens, there will always be ADHDers and neurodivergents of all kinds, and likely still be heaps more who still forget to hydrate.
Also, if you’re constantly worrying every minute of the day if you’re hydrated enough or not, you’re not living or actually doing anything that’s interesting and fulfilling to you.
Lmao what is this from
*minutes
When I was in year 12 of high school last year, some students attempted to use ChatGPT to write their practice exams for them. Mind you, these practice exams are the same as proper state mandated exams, where there are to be zero electronics used whatsoever unless it’s a disability aid, but the practice ones are also just that, to practice your skills, not to write it off as some worthless obligation.
There were actually heaps more of these students who entirely used LLMs for their assignments, would be made to rewrite them because it’s AI written, then proceed to have ChatGPT write it again and pass it through a ‘humaniser’ which just made it unreadable. It’s alarming that these people are willing to stop using their mind at all just because some service from half way across the world wrote an essay better than they could before.
