To add to what others are saying, your instance does not support Tesseract anyway, though if you read your instance sidebar text it points to Photon & Alexandrite frontends as options if you wanted to change the way that Lemmy looks to you (and if you use a browser rather than 3rd-party app).
The question is already answered, but if you are curious your instance sidebar says that the alternative front-ends that are available to you on it are: Photon, Alexandrite, Old (as in looks like old-Reddit), and Blorp. Tesseract is not one of them.

Right, but what you can't do is visit this place for the very first time, and without knowing what you do now, see it without all the toxicity.
Whether we agree or not that he was aiming at a good goal - though fwiw I do believe that it is a laudable one, helping make the Threadiverse more palatable to mainstream normies who could in turn bring new content here - the point remains that he was aiming at something. And nobody is forced into using it.
Except that by virtue of the disclosure not being very transparent, people might actually have used it without knowing. So the CONTENT of the existence of a toxicity filter is not so bad imho (obvious issues notwithstanding, like who decides who is "toxic" or not), it rather was the PROCESS of how it was done, and moreover how it was (not) explained to people that makes it so aggravating.

Also, to be clear I'm talking about the second list, the one with the usernames. That one can easily be turned off. Arguably it would be better to ship the software with it off by default, making the feature opt-in rather than opt-out, but that's not what Tesseract is all about, by design.
At which point people who disagree can simply not use it, problem solved.
Context: I made a poll on PieFed about the new post flairs (so if you are one of the few hundred people who have a PieFed account, follow that link and answer there). Unfortunately Lemmy has neither polls nor post flairs, so this post is to open up the discussion to the wider Fediverse, or rather the subset of it that encompasses Lemmy + Mbin + PieFed, which is called... what exactly?
Is Threadiverse too traumatic & tainted by association with Meta's (all but entirely defunct) Threads? Is The Verse too cool/poetic/nerdy (but niche) to be understood? I highly advise against Lemmyverse bc mainstream normal people are far less tolerant of tankies than we who are here are willing to put up with. Simply listing the software available sometimes is the best option - like the Interstellar app supports all of Lemmy + Mbin + PieFed, but most support at best 1 or 2 of those - but usually is too long to say and does not roll off the tongue, plus will just keep growing as time goes on. Is Forumverse thus the least bad of the available options, or perhaps you have a better idea? π‘
