The provided armaments to Iran which ended up in the hands of Hamas leading up to the October 7th music festival attack, which sparked the flames for the ongoing genocide. Iran also used those weapons on their own civillians earlier this year resulting in between 6k and 40k civillian casualties depending on your source which is actually higher than the casualties for the ongoing war with the USA (which can also somewhat be attributed to China due to the afforementioned hostilities with Israel (and China literally aided in Trump's reelection)). They're also the source of weapons for the Houthis and Lebanon.
In Asia they are the military backers of North Korea, who actively threatens to destroy Japan. In the past they've armed factions who committed coups in Vietnam, Myanmar, and Myanmar AGAIN. They also supplied weapons to Indonesia which likely ended up getting used somewhere in Papau, but that one isn't as fair because at this point who hasn't sold to Indonesia.
In Central and South America they are the military backers for Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, all militant dictatorships.
In Africa, they rebuilt the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Leadership School which is established as a collaboration between the CCP and the Former Liberation Movements of Southern Africa. This is the most benign entry on this list so far, but looking at China's track record you can probably see where it's going to end up.

And if they weren't too busy executing their own military leaders, chances are they'd be invading Hong Kong already. Chinese Military spending is growing massively, growing about 5x in 20 years. Currently, China contests lands in Taiwan, Vietnam, North Korea, South Korea, and India (which China claims is actually Western Tibet) and they're getting less "diplomatic" about it every day.
Also, China has promoted conservative leaders including the GOP and even Donald Trump by name as well as the AfD.
People have lost their fuckin minds if they think China is less evil than 5 or 10 years ago.
NGL I haven't had much experience with the package managers because I've been installing everything with the konsole via pacman -S and flatpak install flathub commands or manually if needed. I'm surprised to hear about the USB devices issue, even my analogue audio interface worked plug and play and I've never had to reseat them.
Have you tried CachyOS? It's built on Arch but it's a lot easier to get into, let's you pick a desktop environment such as KDE Plasma or GNOME in the installation, the install media itself is a portable OS.
Definitely good to keep an open mind while you shop around for your next distro.
Recently there was a hacker issue with the AUR repos, but most of the packages you need are likely already on the official CachyOS package search without requiring an AUR package.

I might be exaggerating based on the little I've seen, particularly this post LINK which has a very misleading title, but the number of packages for AI integration to NixOS and forks for Agentic OS and workflows, the amount of support (real or otherwise) for AI in the NixOS communities, and articles like this one: LINK, would be a hard sell to tell me were all coincidence.
A few months ago, in my free time, I started a small fantasy card game project in 3D and implemented raytracing to drag the cards around a plane above the "table" as a figure of speech, but I never did figure out the nodes which would have cards in play snap to and become undraggable. Whenever I set the boolean to disable dragging and enable snapping the card's variables passed to the node stayed null.
If somebody can help me figure it out, experience with git is a plus but not required (I can set up the repo and the gitignore myself), I'd be able to spend more time on the artwork and maybe we could start a kickstarter in a week or two.

If you lack any prior credit for such work then I won't immediately disqualify you but be prepared to demonstrate capability such as with a script that moves an instantiated 3D objects between 5 nodes in randomized order, interruptible by clicking on it (this demonstrates an active and inactive state and more complex movement than just static A to B)
