Regulations haven't even stopped YouTube from sending fake AI medical ads to your family members.

I used to hate the weekly model when streaming became popular, but I think people are better viewers when they watch weekly. It's easier to have ongoing water cooler conversations about each episode, so your show gets consistent buzz. Plus you don't have the extreme of a whole year+ to wait between seasons. If a classic show ended in May you could start a new season in September. By the time most modern shows have new seasons, I forgot 40% of what I saw last season.

Even English doesn't have one size fits all rules. Language is social and regional. If one English speaking country pronounces zebra as "zee-bra" and another pronounces it as "zeh-bra" they're both right.

There exist countries where Nike rhymes with the name Mike in their language. I'm unwilling to tell people they're not allowed to pronounce it the way their majority does.

The most illegal alien. Smallville had an episode where Clark helped hide an undocumented migrant. His mom tried to chastise him and he had to remind her his own paperwork is shady as hell.

That's part of the reason why I probably wouldn't recommend old trek first to somebody. We don't have the benefit of being able to go back to the cultural moment of the '60s Trek.

I compare it to how Wizard of Oz is a great movie, but you can't really experience the transition to color that happened in the movie the same way someone in 1939 did. Plenty of TV shows were still in black and white all the way into the '60s.

It probably did, but not before it got a couple sequels*. The other YA adaptations were just that bad.

*Their ambitious part one of the final movie was a terrible decision though.

Probably the 2nd best YA fantasy movie adapted from a book in its era. I'll never not be disappointed by The Giver, but I think they had a hard task to accomplish. É
