I don't like this. Working out can help anxiety, depression, it's really good for your mental health. Hit the gym. Feel better.

I'm a chick and I always take up running or martial arts or both right after a breakup. Excercise is a great way to focus, regulate mood and alleviate anxiety for anyone going through a difficult emotional time. Plus, therapy is expensive and there are decent runners at the thrift store.
Certainly don't try and make yourself feel better physically. Fuckin loser.

This isn't a great meme.
Er, I went to therapy and was flat out told to go to the gym.
Men go to physicality because society trains them not to develop their emotional intelligence. They don't do it because "they think their bodies are the problem", they do it because it's the closest thing they've been taught to processing
My ex was very hot. As our relationship started falling apart he started body building very hard. His body wasn't the problem. The moldy sex doll in the closet and constant need to goon though. . ..
He used gooning as his emotional crutch instead of going to therapy. I could see the body building being used in the same way, but at least it didn't put the responsibility of his emotional well-being on me.
