Warwick University researchers have led an international effort to uncover some of the faintest debris in geosynchronous orbit that have ever been observed, finding fragments as small as 5 cm in size and obtaining valuable data for characterising their behaviour.

I'm calling a future where interstellar space travel is developed, but one company owns the 'safe ring' through which all space craft must travel to leave earth because of the giant trash cloud in the sky, therefore pwns the planet.
