No racism is not okay and it was more than a few i still lurk on reddit and the "gamergate" crowd hate the original and claim the game has gone "woke" so there is actual racism to be confronted.

Feels a bit of a weird take... One of the most liked, shared etc video game trailers of all time which is also the least white but because some percentage of people are goofs, gamers as a whole are evil?

It'd be like saying all the fediverse is tankie crazies because .ml exists.

I get we like our pitchforks and any attempt to villainize folks but this feels pretty thin.

usually the crowd addressed as gamers in these things is the vocal racist and sexist and homophobic loud minority, the ones that still keep the spirit of gamergate going. obviously the text just mentions gamers, but sometimes you can be a bit charitable.

People who don't game basically only see that part because they're the ones getting their knickers in a twist and having public outbursts over ridiculous shit all the time. I think many refrain from gaming just because of that.

Fake outrage, Rockstar didn't make a change, one loser fan did this edit because he is racist.

Nobody said they did? Racists are mad about there is many just search on X, Facebook or even parts of reddit and changed it themselves saying this is better and not "woke" nobody ever claimed rockstar changed did so where is the "fake" outrage.

Without knowing any of the context, I assumed "they" meant the game developers. It's definitely open to interpretation that way.

Okay I guess not really though i dont think but apparently with your upvotes it can be it just literally says "fans" disliked it so much they decided to change it. Seems to me to be clearly centering these "fans" as the plural group acting. Apparently not though.

I mean both look, how can i say this, extremely thirst trappy but the face is much better on the original. Also my brain is strange(and also its very hard to talk about this because it involves skin colour) so for me general european/north american white skin is kinda neutral but the edited picture has her at like finnish level whiteness which kinda can work as a plus point. But this is ignoring how fucking deranged this is.

I don’t know if people are reading this correctly.

Rockstar did not change the race of the cover-girl. It was the racist ‘fans’ who fed the image through AI and gave her the Michael Jackson experience.

A lot of people getting angry at a company that (in this very specific case) did nothing wrong.

I don't know why anyone trusts anyone or anything that still posts on Twitter in 2026...

Hmmm looked around a bit online and I couldn't find this edited image or any comment about Rockstar changing the cover art from the left to the right. I'm wondering if this is even real, or am I missing a joke? If it is real it's silly but if it's not it's just fake outrage.

The post says that fans made the change, likely meaning this is hard to find

So, in other words, possibly one person did this and now we all should be bigly mad about it?

    It's a moral panic.

Look at gamergate forums or on x and they are thousands of people mad about rockstar going "woke" so no its not a "moral panic". Hate people in this thread pretending racism doesn't exist because their bubbles are successfully purged of it that's good but the racism is still there and say your low tech friend who games causally and uses x or facebook or reddit will see it.

Do you have any earthly idea how many of those "people" are bots now? Let yourself get worked-up by engagement-bait if you insist, but no-one-else is obligated to check-out places that are well-known for being places one goes to piss-off others or find something to get pissed-off about. Your "hobby" of engaging with and spreading it without substantiation vs reality doesn't make you "more aware", it just makes you part of the problem.

Okay then don't downplay existing racism because you successfully avoid it. That's helping no one end racism.

You're literally promoting specific fan-art, spreading it far beyond what it ever would have reached otherwise, in your efforts to "end" racism. If anyone's watering down existing racism, its you and people who act as you do.

How am promoting and spreading it?

Had you seen it before this post? I hadn't. Same likely applies to a bunch of people who think its(the white girl part) awesome(better than the original - I am NOT of such opinion) and can't wait to share it with their friends. Making it part of rage-bait just amplifies the Streisand Effect.

If "art"upsets you so much, the thing to do is promote good art instead, or do literally anything else with your day. Maybe discuss the most, or any of, recent shootings of black teenagers by cops over a water bottle or panty-hose or some other stand-in we all know amounts to Cop+"excuse"+minority=media trying to spin it and thousands of "white people suck" memes.

There are so many of those memes and events that are true and verified from end-to-end and back that anyone promoting the made-up gibberish like this one should be called-out for what they are actually doing - intentionally distracting others and discrediting the people who really care.

"Such and such minority and anyone who really cares is just sooo upset that verifying things is an un-due burden" has no place on the internet - it paints them as dumb, ignorant, likely corrupt, and serves only to drive-away anyone who can be driven-away.

To get to the point where Counter-Revolutionaries are the only ones left to purge, over 90% of the people who make revolutions happen according to all the revolutions that reached that point, you first need their help with the revolution.

If you want to avoid a spot next to me on the wall, maybe don't promote the cults of personality that substitute for ideals once they get the chance. Skin color or the right in-group won't save you then.

Fuck racism. But why the fuck are you posting a piece of shit produced by some scum denying the right to live to a group of people based on their hobby?

So a white person with Mar-a-Lago face? Kinda proves the point that a lot of casual racism just boils down to jealousy. They'll spend thousands of dollars on cosmetic surgery, lip filler, and spend hours a day tanning but god forbid you have those features naturally.

It's the same vibe as talking shit on Latino immigrants but than taking your family to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Or how they talk shit about pride month and LGBTQ+ and say they deserve a parade for being straight all the while LGBTQ+ porn is extremely popular in conservative areas. They want all the benefits of other races, cultures, and sexualities without any of the prejudice that they themselves are creating.

The "discovery of the number 0" thing always bugs me because obviously no one needed to discover the number zero as it's used to express "I own zero goats".

The important discovery was the use of 0 as a placeholder in a column indicating no value, when writing the number 10 for example. Basically it's the discovery of a positional numeric system where the position / column of the digits means something.

The distinction between the concept of “nothing” as general concept, and “nothing” as a numerical value is non-trivial. And like, a mathematical proof that outlines that numerical concept of “nothing” is important.

You Don’t Have to Apologize for Being White Anymore!

Direct quote by US Vice President JD Vance, 2025.

Racists feel like it's OK to be openly racist again. They see people angry at their racism as oppressors.

Not surprised at all about this cover, though I am surprised Rockstar apparently went so far as to change it.

The tattoo on the one on the left really looks like a tattoo of her own face. I'm not big on tattoos of faces in general, so that's a little strange for me. It could be her mom or sister or something, I guess.

The one on the right has the same tattoo. I certainly wouldn't get a tattoo of someone whose job I took, whether they were fired because of racist fans, or they had poor job performance, or... Anything, really.

Well, to start, they are both cartoons.. So I would say they were equally well drawn, but I would also say that outrage one way or another is fucking dumb, so probably the first one was fine.
