In one sense, i agree.

But hollywood scripts are insanely formulaic. They have the upbeats and downbeats of the story mapped out to minutes. I've heard of scripts getting feedback like, "that's too exciting for 14:30, it should happen at 16:00 instead."

I don't want ai to be putting writers out of work, but writers are already just choosing which words to slot into the same basic structure again and again.

Writing hollywood blockbusters might be close to an ideal use case for a token-based large language model.

I am a shit writer. I have always struggled. It took me years after college to get my degree because I couldn't complete my senior thesis. I would love to write non-fiction, but I suck at it.

I rather never put my name on any literary works over using AI shitty slop. AI can go jump off a bridge.

One of the hosts on my favorite nerd podcast put it this way: it's like when blogging became easy. The real challenge isn't the technical setup of hosting a blog. It's what to write that people want to read.

Why Hollywood pays writers I don't know! Fire them and use AI entirely! We shouldn't be waisting money on stories that a 10 year old kid can write again and again for millions of dollars, when AI can do this for maybe hundreds of dollars. Embrace AI!
