Original title (IT): Sasso, carta, forbici (Rock, Paper, Scissors)

The nine-minute French-Italian co-production follows a group of young friends through a series of amusement park attractions. Their encounters shift between the ironic and the grotesque, gradually revealing the complexities of their relationships and the characters’ different responses to violence. The games and rides become initiation rituals, marking the end of an idealized childhood and the uncertain beginning of adulthood.

Marvel plans to continue the animated series “X-Men ’97” for many more years. Producer Larry Houston said that the fourth season has already been approved within the studio, and he himself would like to at least repeat the success of the original show, which ended after five seasons.

“If the show can at least replicate what I did with the original, five seasons would be great. Maybe even six. But it all depends on the audience and how well viewers receive the stories we tell.” - Larry Houston

“Brad wants to do ten seasons, and we want that too. We hope that in eight years we will still be discussing the tenth season. With 60 years of comics and so many characters, there’s practically no limit.” - Eric Lewald

Oscar-winning filmmaker Mark Andrews has joined the upcoming John Carter, Warlord of Mars animated series as supervising director and co-showrunner. Andrews, who directed Pixar’s Brave, will oversee the adaptation alongside co-showrunner and head writer Michael Kogge.

According to TheWrap, Andrews and Kogge will discuss the project during a San Diego Comic-Con panel on Friday, July 24, at 4 p.m. in Room 32B.

The series is based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ influential Barsoom novels, beginning with A Princess of Mars, which was first serialized in 1912. Original title (DE): Das Neinhorn (The u-NO-corn)

In the Forest of Hearts, a little, sweepity, swoopity, swappity, sweet unicorn is born. But even though everyone is very lilacly-loving to it and constantly feeds it with sweet lucky clover, the little critter does not behave unicorn-like at all. It just keeps saying no, so soon its family just calls it uNOcorn. One day, the uNOcorn breaks out of its cotton candy world and sets off to NOWHERE. On the way, he unexpectedly meets a raccoon that refuses to listen (HUHcoon), a watchdog that doesn‘t seem to care about anything (SOWHATchdog), and princess that always talks back (PrinceYES). The four of them make a pretty good team. Because even being stubborn is much more fun together.

Editor's note: The original title, Das Neinhorn, is a German play on words: "einhorn" is German for "unicorn" and "nein" is German for "no".___

In the year 20001, three aliens arrive on the ruins of Earth to investigate the extinct human race. Revering humanity as a highly intelligent civilization, they wildly misinterpret the artifacts left behind: mistaking playgrounds for sacred places, umbrellas for communication devices, and graveyards for farmland. The team consists of a warm-hearted yet misguided captain, a highly logical but often inaccurate analyst, and their innocent, instinctive young member. While the two adults obsessively analyze human civilization through logic and theory, the youngest slowly begins to understand humanity through emotion, contradiction, and empathy, discovering that what science cannot decode, the heart just might.

From this article on Cartoon Brew:

The short imagines the Second Coming through the lens of existential horror. Jesus returns not to save humanity, but to free people from death itself, turning immortality into a curse. What could have been an exercise in provocation instead becomes an unexpectedly sincere meditation on mortality, anxiety, and the uncomfortable bargain of being alive. The film grew directly from Moynihan’s own struggles with panic attacks and his fear of death, giving its surreal imagery an emotional foundation that never feels ironic.

Visually, Jesus 2 is just as distinctive, while still slightly familiar to fans of the shows on which Moynihan cut his teeth. Neon vaporwave colors, lo-fi textures, and psychedelic character designs recall the aesthetic Moynihan helped develop on The Midnight Gospel, but here they serve a far more intimate story. Every frame feels handmade and unpredictable, moving effortlessly between cosmic comedy and genuine dread.

I posted this a couple years ago in the older .lemmee animation community before it was shut down, and figured I'd post it again for those who might've missed it, or for new lemmings who've joined since then.

It's a really lovely little animation with a really catchy tune in the middle of it. It's in French, but thankfully there's English closed captions if you enable the CC button.

In prehistoric times, within the quadrupedal tribe of primitive hunter-gatherers lives IGI, a young boy who ultimately becomes the first to stand upright in a society of stooped individuals. "No one stands like this," the New Chief declares, forcefully bending IGI back into the expected posture. Now, IGI faces a crucial choice: to conform and suppress his exceptional abilities, blending in with others, or to delve deeper into his gifts and risk exile from the only safe home he knows.
