Ok read a chapter today in #Braille, I started The Shadow of the Torturer (The Book of the New Sun 1) by Gene Wolf, and very quickly it was clear that this was the correct choice, I do not think it would be easy to follow in audio or TTS. So far it is exceptional.

@main @mastoblind @bookstodon Ok am up to chapter 3, and this is a superb book so far, the writing strongly reminds me of some of Poe's more complex stories, in particular Ligeia, which should also give people an idea of the language and style of the writing.

@main @mastoblind @bookstodon Partway through chapter 4 now, and it continues to get better, and reaffirm that reading this in #Braille was the correct decision.

@main @mastoblind @bookstodon I've read over 160 pages in #Braille in the last ~3 weeks, I have been aiming for 10 pages a day, though right now averaging just under 7. Glad to find my speed back to about 5 minutes per page, I was up to about 3.5 per page when reading Harry Potter over a year back, however The Book of the New Sun is drastically more advanced.

@dhamlinmusic @main @mastoblind @bookstodon Oh, you are going to like this book. Confusing as hell, intentionally, but sounds like you are prepared for that. I have read it in both print and audio, I preferred the audio because it forced me not to skim or speedread.
