    I’ve always felt it’s kind of strange that people jump to blaming the Chinese market for there not being any notable LGBTQ characters in Disney movies, when it’s not like they were releasing movies with queer characters before the Chinese market was big. As this very article and like… the last couple of years of stupid Florida politics have demonstrated, there’s a loud portion of the American market that would have a huge problem with an LGBTQ protagonist in a Disney movie.

    Before things got very cold between us, some studios were keeping an eye on the Russian market as well. That's supposedly why the queer content in The Legend of Korra was so very, very toned down; the show was doing poorly on its home ground, and Nickelodeon wanted to make some of its money back in Russia.

    China is one of the biggest and most powerful overseas markets, although it seems to be in decline right now. But foreign markets definitely have an effect on what we get to see here in the States.

    Look at them! Look at these rubes! These buffoons! These incompetents! Do you see how many LIKES their posts have? Tens of thousands of lemmings, rushing towards the edge of a transphobic cliff! They’re so psyched at the idea of hating trans inclusiveness in mass media that they don’t give the first shit about whether or not they’re treating blatant, labeled satire as fact.

    By the way, I haven’t seen a single other outlet reporting on fake trans Moana using the word “Broana,” and I’m really fucking disappointed. In all of you. For shame.

    This Thanksgiving one of my wife's relatives said they heard on the news about a local girl identifying as a cat, and had a litter box in the hall at school. Then all the other idiots started trying to look up what school it was. I finally lost my shit for the first time and yelled that it's a bullshit story anti-trans people have been repeating for years. They all got stupid looks on their faces, the lady that started it said "well it was on the news", and then changed the subject. I really fucking hate people.
