I would like them to be as well because I think that's the direction society needs to move in but unfortunately they are not socialist. Doesn't mean however that they are like the conservatives. That are just left of center. That's still a massive improvement, if only because they are competent. We can look at societal change in the future, but right now I'll settle for effective governance.
