Because you are flailing around with your arms and not listening because you want to call your mommy. Do you know how fast a person can pull out a blade and fatally stab you? I hate power tripping cops as much as you do, but we have to consider his safety.

    Adult male wearing body armor, a firearm, a taser, and OC spray with help a radio call away needs protection from the teenage girl he pulled over for speeding.

    Policing is more dangerous and lethal to the citizens than it is to the police officers.

    You are entitled to your opinion but the rest of us have an obligation to call it out when it’s bullshit.

    Here's the problem... people, black people and minorities in particular, regularly get lied to, tricked, framed, abused, assaulted, beaten, shot, and/or murdered by cops. She's scared for her fucking life. She has zero reason to trust that cop and instinctively wants the protection of her parent.

    If you fear for your life do you act rationally? Should "power tripping" cops get a pass for instilling that kind of fear in the population they "protect and serve" and be able to ramp up the violence in response?

    I sincerely hope you are just trolling.

    And black people literally have fewer rights. The Supreme Court has ruled that in vaguely defined "high crime areas", cops can pretty much ignore much of the bill of rights. Guess what the interesection of "high crime area" and "where black people live" is?

    I remember a huge case in maybe the 1980s or 1990s where a black judge ruled that running from police was NOT probable cause because it makes perfect sense for black people to run from police. Total firestorm. People hated it.

    Well, now we are at the precipice of living in a fascist state, where justice, having been slowly eroded by custom and practice for decades, can finally be washed away entirely.

    When MLK, Jr. said

    an inustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere

    this is exactly what he was fucking talking about.

    So 100% cop may have been able to do this without a body slam.. but it's not like she rolled a stop sign and got body slammed for it.

    71 in a 60-mile-per-hour zone

    So she's pulled over for driving 11 over on a highway... which is kind of normal... and may be in possession of alcohol (not open container, not DUI). He likely tossed every non-moving violation he could think of punitively because she dared to "resist" and didn't show the respect he expected.

    Sound like just consequences for driving while black in the USA.

    I'm confused, are you saying it's okay because there's multiple alleged charges against her? I don't see how any of that is relevant to her being body slammed and punched in the face?

    The defense should get away with the arrest being unlawful given what you said. I don't think anyone here thinks she's perfectly innocent, but if you see the video you already know she's being unlawfully assaulted by a jackass of a police officer.

    Even self destructive teens have rights, after all. They're generally victims of an already unjust society.
