There's some pretty severe restrictions, like max 5 rounds in an SKS (although plenty of people illegally use the full 10). Cali does too, but it's not clear if it's on the same level. IIRC you can still have handguns pretty much anywhere in the US, while they're almost banned here.

Yeah, those laws actually look fairly similar to Canada in extent. Some things are more lax, but some are actually stricter, like I'm pretty sure you can transport a long gun more easily in Canada.
