As part of the devs farewell message on their site, they have included malicious code to make each visitor sends 2,000 requests to the dbzer0 servers in an attempt to DDOS and take the instance offline.

I’m not trusting THEM lol, people are told to avoid going online due to toxicity and this exact crap. And this is why I said using them was useless… you are STILL using it lmfao. Even after trying to avoid this exact conversation….

I trust the internet to do what it always does, there’s gonna be users that did it, even “jokingly”. That’s the sad unfortunate reality that we do live in. I wish we lived in your imaginary fantasy world, that would be great!

I’m “trusting” that the internet is doing what it always has and always will do, and not something totally unprecedented that it’s never done before.

Again, people are told to avoid social media because OF THIS EXACT CRAP HAPPING OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND…..

"I just know it, dude. It's like ... the internet, and stuff, man"

At this point, you're just a troll. You are knowingly spreading the views of someone proven to be a liar, and when asked for any kind of evidence, you just vaguely wave in a direction with a long winded response that is logically indistinguishable from "vibes, man"

Go away. You are not continuator anything to this. I won't bother calling it a conversation, because trolls don't have conversations. That would require them to stop operating in bad faith.

...But you ARE trusting them. You're taking their word that the internet is doing horrible things to him. You forget that they are ALSO on the internet, and capable of lying to discredit the consequences of their own actions. You are ALSO on the internet, and a part of the toxicity you rail against.

Take your hands off the keyboard, put them on your lap, take a deep breath, and audibly say the words "it is possible I am wrong about this."

Yes, there are lots of whiny moralists around who think being civil and avoiding difficult topics and turning the fediverse into some sort of curated PG friendly space is the best solution. Preferably with government ID checking built in.
