Women put on clothes for a variety of reasons like staying warm and avoiding sunburn, and sometimes we also pick clothes we find aesthetically flattering (shockingly men also do this). Calling it "advertising" comes from a perspective that women are necessarily focused only on men, and trying to trick men. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Viceversa@lemmy.world -2 points 1 week ago (2 children) Calling it "advertising" comes from a perspective that women are necessarily focused only on men, and trying to trick men. ETA: in fact, I'd argue it's worse because there's much more physical violence perpetrated upon women by men than the other way around - and more of it is of a more serious degree, to boot. permalink fedilink source parent [–] WhoIzDisIz@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago Entertaining myself, actually. They also make my butt look great, but I wouldn't squeeze into them every day if they didn't reduce my standing heart rate significantly. I'm not aware of a similar medical reason for wearing a pushup bra. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] myotheraccount@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago TIL that POTS not only stands for Plain Old Telephone System permalink fedilink source parent [–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 7 points 1 week ago Congratulations you changed my mind regarding compression capris and people with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome! permalink fedilink source parent [–] Banana@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 week ago (2 children) Yoga pants were first designed and sold by Lulu Lemon, which was founded by Dennis "Chip" Wilson. So I don't necessarily disagree, I hope you understand that you should be mad at other men for creating them, not at women for wearing them. Call it false advertising all you want, but its false advertising created by men. If you want a woman with an ass, just look for a hockey player, tbh. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 week ago Same thing if you're looking for a guy with an ass. However, if you live somewhere like the Caribbean where hockey players are thin on the ground, sprinters are right up there. permalink fedilink source parent [–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 3 points 1 week ago* (1 child) Chip Wilson? That's the guy who said 'frankly some women’s bodies just actually don’t work for wearing Lululemon pants. It’s really about the rubbing through the thighs, how much pressure is there over a period of time, how much they use it,' right? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Banana@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 child) Yeah? He's still responsible for them. I never said he was a good person or that he was wrong, just that men are responsible for this "false advertising" as you so eloquently put it. I'm not arguing with you that the pants make women's butts look better and that it may disappoint you when you manage to bed one. I am arguing that it's not advertising because women are humans and our society stopped explicitly selling those a while ago. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 child) I don’t think anyone here is arguing against the fact that women are human. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Banana@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago (1 child) That's a very obtuse response. Idk why you'd ask people to change your mind when you don't want your mind changed, but I have a job to do that doesn't involve convincing you that advertising is not for human beings. Have fun with your thread. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 3 points 1 week ago I’m talking about yoga pants being push up bras for asses and you’re getting into whether women are human beings or not. permalink fedilink source parent

And that pushes my balls up so my pencil dick looks thicker. That's much better, right? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] WhoIzDisIz@lemmy.today 5 points 1 week ago* (2 children) If that's your big concern & preferred solution, have at it. Would be amusing to see the reaction you get, tho. Personally, I'd just leave it. It ain't the size that matters, but many guys are stuck on it anyway. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 1 point 1 week ago Nah, was just an example. [–] smh@slrpnk.net 12 points 1 week ago (2 children) I, at least, wear my compression capris (a subset of yoga pants, I think) for a medical reason (abdominal compression improves bloodflow more than compression socks, in POTS patients). They also make my butt look great, but I wouldn't squeeze into them every day if they didn't reduce my standing heart rate significantly. I'm not aware of a similar medical reason for wearing a pushup bra. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] myotheraccount@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago TIL that POTS not only stands for Plain Old Telephone System permalink fedilink source parent [–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 7 points 1 week ago Congratulations you changed my mind regarding compression capris and people with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome! permalink fedilink source parent

[–] Banana@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 week ago (2 children) Yoga pants were first designed and sold by Lulu Lemon, which was founded by Dennis "Chip" Wilson.
