This always bugged me. Like, how can you code, develop and / or lead an open-source and "privacy-friendly" project and support far right politics. That's just a form of self-sabotage.

It depends on what slice of far-right we're talking about. There are many of them who are actually of the opinion that the government should stay out of their business. They're just also bigoted shitheads.
