🐍 Not shocked by #Meta or the kind of people they put in charge of their “digital experiences for kids”¹.

Exactly the kind of person to entrust with social media #ageverification (calls, live videos, photographs etc.).

I mean they already love scanning messages for child sexual abuse material via #ChatControl².

☑️ Entrust children's data to the people literally caught exploiting them, all under the banner of protecting kids?

"More than 1,000 school districts, including LAUSD, are suing Meta, Google, TikTok and others, arguing social media has fueled a youth mental health crisis and drained school resources."

Meta has been up to no good for a while - always?

Is $1.4 trillion a reasonable amount for these cases? Who knows.

Is it reasonable compensation for all the evil they’ve done? I’d argue yes.

It’s essentially their entire market capitalization as a penalty.

Amazing for motivation: “Everyone is unhappy; the only people who are not unhappy are, literally, executives,” an Instagram employee told WIRED”

That is just where we want Meta ;)

What is a company like Meta to do when it notices that 10% of it's income comes from advertising scams, illegal gambling & products? ENCOURAGE IT & RAISE THE PRICES FOR THE CRIMINALS - OF COURSE!

Sadly the good times eventually had to end: The Consumer Federation of America is going after Meta for it now!
