I was raised Catholic, actually. Went to bible camp every summer, sang in the choir. The book is fantasy fiction and the preacher's livelihood depends on convincing people that all good things come from god and all bad things come from humanity.

Jesus? No, but he was used by them. Christ? Yes, complete fabrication.

Jesus Christ literally said he is the Son of Man and assigned Pope Peter as the "rock" of his church

    Jesus Christ

Again, there is no such thing as a christ, magic isn't real.

literally said he is the Son of Man

    Isn't everyone?

and assigned Pope Peter as the "rock" of his church

And what does that mean? One of these four interpretations? https://www.gotquestions.org/upon-this-rock.html

Or something else entirely? Let's ask Jesus. Oh right... he died.

    1. There is, stop strawmanning it to "magic"

    2. The Son of Man as in the Messiah. Matthew 26:64 Jesus said to him: “You have said it. Yet truly I say to you, hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the power of God, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

    3. Jesus told him to "feed my sheep".

Can god make something out of nothing? That is magic. Can god reverse death? That is magic.

What's up with the blood sacrifices and rituals? Totally-not-magic?

The Son of Man as in the Messiah. Matthew 26:64 Jesus said to him: “You have said it. Yet truly I say to you, hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the power of God, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Messiah meaning savior? To save us from the punishments god created for us?

Jesus told him to "feed my sheep".

Jesus was kind of a dick like that, yeah. If we believe the gospels.

    Again:

To save us from the punishments god created for us?

You keep cherry-picking parts you think you can answer (though all you have is apologetics, fallacies) and ignoring the parts that prove your death cult is baseless and harmful.

Fucking scum, fuck you for choosing death.

    Please read the Bible further.

May I have some of the verses you read that made you think that?

and no it does not, not at all

Most religious orders (the way that most people become priests or brothers) do not have you earn your own money, you live in formation houses or active communities with priests and brothers

That's the point of the garden of Eden story. God made everything and everyone, but we broke his impossible rules and now he punishes us forever, to the point that infants are born with sin.

    It's a death cult.

Clearly I've read the bible more, and in more versions of, than you.

translations depend on literalness and the way its said

    for example

    the difference between

"I ate a bunch of fruit today"

    and

"A bunch of fruit was consumed by me today"

Yeah but then you say a bunch of racist authoritarian shit and try to shrug it off as sarcasm when the crowd turns against you. You're not allowed to decide you were joking after the fact.

Pretty sure that documentary would be the more consistent and factually based religious piece of media out there.
