I still wear my first pair, 10+ years, bought at a yard sale. The heels are worn slam off. They are fantastic for walking on hard surfaces, especially getting 10k+ steps. And not all Crocs have literal holes. They are affordable work wear. A pair I recently bought for work were less than 35 USD, brand new, shipping included. I look forward to another decade. And as for the holes, in the Deep Southern swampy areas, they're really nice (unless you happen across a gator or venomous snake, I guess).
