If you're SPECIFICALLY putting yourself out there to protest, document, or obstruct action, it's insane to bring your actual phone - get a dumb digital camera. It comes with MUCH less liability, and from a purely practical point of view you don't wind up trying to explain to your phone company why your phone being stomped into bits by a Nazi should be covered by the insurance. Not to mention you can pop the SD card and hide it if you need to. It's just smarter. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] sem@piefed.blahaj.zone 8 points 6 months ago Nah. With a phone you can have it automatically upload. Can't do that with a digital camera. The best advice is to get a burner phone bought with cash with a plan also bought with cash. permalink fedilink source parent [–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago A phone can upload automatically, so even if they take it the video is out there.
