If anything it shows for profit monetization eventually destroys every information stream. In NYT case they hired Bari Weiss who has gone on to turn news companies into right wing propaganda outlets. They've been a shitshow for a long time.

Its past time that every county in the US had like a gov funded local nonprofit newspaper to report on local events. Or even funnier make it funded by congressional district so gerrymandered areas get some weird ass shit.

The threat of being made to recall them is one of the safeguards here the second the company is told by their lawyers they will lose a "voluntary recall" becomes inevitable. These companies will only get more... entrepeneurial about food safety the more the threats are taken away and the big one was always food testing.

I think the US government maybe has less "concentration of evil" but since its it got so many hands in so many pies the mass market scale of evil going on here is pretty brutal.

Plus like Gaza makes the Saudi government look good by comparison. The Saudi government who regularly murders critics and has a bunch of insane laws to control people.

I mean its definitely leaping over the low bar set by the US as they seem to be intent on only doing it in reprisal but yeah for much of the rest of the world this is probably somewhat of a "let them fight" moment.

The Iranian dictatorship is brutal, lots of people were killed in the recent protests (2k+). The US government saw this and bombed a children's school. What's that Napoleon quote? "Never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake"

Thats kinda what the US did here.

Read all the posts here. Most of them are correct in some way.

    • She threatens populism from the economic side forcing the corrupt MAGA politicians to care about 'fake news' like 'affordability'
    • She threatens insecure dudes by being smart, attractive and speaking spanish
    • She threatens the political republicans because she actually interacted wth the public instead of going to an ivyleague college and being taught to speak folksy by a speech trainer
    • Won't somebody think of the lusty christian men?

So she's like perfect ragebait for every right winger

I'm trying to work out how to model the destruction of the towers using glizzies. What would I have to build the towers out of if I wanted to throw hotdogs at them to destroy them?

Cardboard is obviously too strong. Wax paper has too much tensile strength but crumples satisfactorily. Does anyone have ideas on what I should use as the tower materials?

My work is willing to buy a headset for me for zoom. I'm looking for the following

    • Bluetooth/wireless
    • Durable/Repairable
    • Good battery life
    • Good mic quality
    • Syncing multiple devices is a plus
    • USB dongle required (work pc doesn't have bt)
    • Over Ear

Current top choices: -previous one was a plantronics voyager but it failed after a year. Might try another similar one, anyway. If anyone has better ideas though I'm all ears.

I'm thinking of things like heliocentrism where there was some modern discovery or revelation by science that invalidated a common assumption prior.

My understanding is that flat earth is more a recent phenomena but I'd love to hear some ancient ideas people now miss. Did people think trees weren't alive? Did people think evaporation was where things simply disappeared?

I'd would love to hear these ideas.
