Even off or in an EM bag, if they take it from you, they can look for ANY reason to hold you, and if they just SUSPECT you, the hole in your provider connection record is EXTREMELY suspicious. If you don't have your phone and they don't have photographic evidence of anything, then you were at home the whole day taking a nap. How will they prove otherwise?
