At the same time, European companies failed to produce a viable response to Apple and Googleโs mobile operating systems. American companies rapidly took over the market through network effects, while limited public investment further undermined European competition.
This is repeated behavior, too.
They watched Globalfoundries and other major silicon companies (except ASML) wither on the vine. They're arbitrarily constricting AI startups now, without actually regulating them to be any less toxic/censored/abusive, and those are just the industries I know. Ukraine is part of the same pattern. And its all amongst a ton of internal political bickering.
From my perspective on the outside, the EU needs to become closer to a federal system, yesterday, so Europe can actually concentrate on things. But... it seems to be getting worse, instead?
