Please buy some. permalink fedilink source hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Thom@discuss.online 2 points 8 months ago They will be the ones asking for a bail out from the US government permalink fedilink source parent [+] shalafi@lemmy.world -9 points 8 months ago (2 children) They're probably not selling enough consumer RAM to be worth it any longer. Saying they're pivoting to AI sales is pure C-suite talk to keep investors not only docile, but excited. People just aren't building and upgrading PCs much anymore, present company excluded. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] tiramichu@sh.itjust.works 15 points 8 months ago There is no way the Crucial brand was not profitable. They aren't leaving an unprofitable brand, rather they are killing a profitable brand in order to pump its resources into an even more profitable b2b segment. That's why people are annoyed. Micron didn't have to leave the market at all, but they are doing, because they are greedy. permalink fedilink source parent [–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 4 points 8 months ago Of course I'm not gonna build a PC when RAMs more expensive than the GPU permalink fedilink source parent
