(To be fair, he's not wrong in that this is intended to keep the auto companies and the government nice and fat -- but the obvious response to this is to agitate for better public transit, not railing against an environmentally sound policy.)

If he walked then he'd realise how dangerous carbrained roads were and maybe be a bit more supportive of bicycle lanes and pedestrian roads.

1 km can be walked in 10 min. A car is an extreme waste of time and money for that.

    It seems like he's suffering under the system and not enjoying it. I don't think he's saying he likes driving. People who drive cars like that usually do it out of necessity not the desire to drive.
